water tank
A water tank is a container for storing water.
Water tanks are used to provide storage of water for use in many applications, drinking water, irrigation agriculture, fire suppression, agricultural farming, both for plants and livestock, chemical manufacturing, food preparation as well as many other uses. Water tank parameters include the general design of the tank, and choice of construction materials, linings. Various materials are used for making a water tank: plastics (polyethylene, polypropylene), fiberglass, concrete, stone, steel (welded or bolted, carbon, or stainless). Earthen pots, such as matki used in South Asia, can also be used for water storage. Water tanks are an efficient way to help developing countries to store clean water.
We are tenants. A neighbour came to report an overflow pipe pouring out onto people. I was trying to stop it when I found the water tanks. The water tank has no lid and is covered in mould. I've turned the water off and have just turned it on to use the tap near the water inlet once or twice a...
What are the factors that determine the life of a water tank? Obviously the quality of the water and the materials used to construct the tank are important. But beyond that I'm fuzzy. Is it just the number of gallons of water that pass through it? The number of "fresh" gallons of water that...

Hi everyone,
The water in the apartment is not heating up hot, it’s either freezing cold or lukewarm. The red and yellow lights on the grundefos pump suggest in the manual that there’s a blockage. We’ve tried resetting the tank and the grundefos but to our dismay, we thought after doing all...
Having just moved into a property and discovering the central heating not functioning, after 3 months we eventually was able to get the property management to have one of their heating engineers attend. He was literally here 10mins and in the loft space for 2mins, where he stated he discovered...
We have a brand new house with a tank system and boiler. I had nest installed to control water and heating.
Sometimes when the water and heating times off the tank keeps on doing something.
I have to either reset the nest or turn the power off to the boiler for a bit to reset it.
Is this a...

Hi,
My dad and I have used all day to connect a external water tank to our Viessmann Vitodens 100 Boiler.
For some reason the 2 hoses we have connected to the boiler neither gets hot (i believe 1 should get hot) and we are at a loss.
Is there a configuration to do on the dash, or any things we...
I am looking at getting a new boiler with an unvented hot water tank.
The positions available to me are limited by the fact we are part way through a very slow self build extension and the discovery that a previous extension was built over a gas pipe meaning that we have to have Cadent out to...
Hi all,
looking for some advice about an overflowing cold water tank. Each morning the tank has continued filling up, so by the morning we have water coming out the overflow pipe outside.
My initial thought was either (a) the ball valve was not set to the right height to turn off the water...
Can I get a backboiler connected to an indirect vented hot water cylinder through the existing small bore coil which was used previously for a pumped oil boiler, ie do I have to get a new tank with a wide bore gravity feed coil (and scrap the present hot tank?)
I understand the pump would have...

Hi all,
I live in an end of terrace house and there are two overflow pipes next to each other on my neighbours side of the fence. I assumed that the one closest to us was our overflow pipe. It has recently started dripping constantly and it is damaging our fence. Thinking it was my issue, I...
Hello,
Three days backs, the pipes in my flat next to the hot water tank banged violently for a few seconds (water hammer?). Since then, the water in the pipes is creating a whooshing sound that comes for a brief period when the toilet is flushed or tap is used. In addition, the cold water...
Hi, can anyone advise a quality brand of thermostat, mine recently failed and I fitted a 'Backermatic' supplied by a local plumber but it does not work properly. The water is either totally boiling or cold with a tiny adjustment.
Thanks in advance,
David
Hi guys
My hot water tank has starting clicking on and off every 1-2 mins which is incredibly noisy and annoying.
My heating is off, so the only time the tank should click into action is if we use hot water and it needs to bring the tank back up to temperature!
Can anyone advise?
