wall
A wall is a structure and a surface that defines an area; carries a load; provides security, shelter, or soundproofing; or, is decorative. There are many kinds of walls, including:
Walls in buildings that form a fundamental part of the superstructure or separate interior rooms, sometimes for fire safety
Glass walls (a wall in which the primary structure is made of glass; does not include openings within walls that have glass coverings: these are windows)
Border barriers between countries
Brick walls
Defensive walls in fortifications
Permanent, solid fences
Retaining walls, which hold back dirt, stone, water, or noise sound
Stone walls
Walls that protect from oceans (seawalls) or rivers (levees)
My plumber says I’m missing the bits that go into the back of the toilet (two small holes either side) he’s only fitted side fixing ones before he’s says. Anyone know what they are called. Unfortunately I bought from Victoria plum and they are no use
Hi all,
This is what the garage walls look like. Pictures were taken today. A couple of days ago the thick damp strip near the ceiling wasn't there, just the thin ones around the blocks, so it seems it is worsening.
The external tap was removed a couple of weeks ago as it was badly leaking and...

Hi,
Can anyone suggest the best way to fit a bath screen wall profile when the silcone at the bottom is sitting proud at the bath edge and prevents the profile from sitting flush . Cutting the silcone back slightly has caused slight leaks behind the bath.
Hi

I am replacing a previously installed wall mounted toilet with a new one. I checked the positions of the bolts and the outlet and they are in a good to within 1mm accuracy. However the inlet from the wall cistern is about 5mm deviated to the 7:30 position (down and to the left when looking...
Hi,
I am more or less a complete novice when it comes to plumbing and I need help identifying what kind of plumbing setup I may have in the attached photos. I removed a bath/shower mixer valve to see what was behind it as I want to replace it anyway. From what I can tell there are some brass...
Do most people lag 32mm in this case 40mm (1.5inch) as it passes through the wall cavity or just the external pipe? If lagging the pope in the cavity what's best to seal the lagging to the wall with. I'm thinking it wouldn't cement up well?

Hi Everyone
Just looking for some advice with this issue I have with a wall hung toilet I am adding to my bathroom. The problem I have is that when I set the ideal height of the toilet (410mm when sitting on toilet) and taking into account tiles and hardibacker (approx 30mm?), the waste pipe...
I’ve eventually got the pan installed on the frame! What a nightmare that was!!
The frame and pan are Grohe.
Just got a couple of questions:
1) The flush plate is quite bulky and stops the flush part in the cistern fully opening. Seems a poor design and feels like I need to pad the back of...
I recently got a wall mounted tap fitted above my bath and when I went to turn it on, it started to leak between the tap facia and tiles. I removed
the tap and found that one of the O'Ring on the mixer body male part was split. I thought this is easy I will just replace the O'ring, then I...
Hello,
We’ve had a new boiler, hot water tank, pump, T-valve and thermostats fitted and are using the original radiators without zone valves (small house). The guy that fitted it says he’s too busy to come back and take a look at the problems.
If we run just the heating, after it reaches the...
We are in the process of having an extension built and our new combi boiler was installed about a month ago. The wall is now looking damp and going green, I’m worried it can only get worse, is this normal?
Thank you.
Anna

Hi guys I'm running 63mm twin wall and insulated 25mm pipe for a new supply, is the twin wall compliant with running through a wall or under foundations or does it have to go through a section of soil pipe at the point of wall/foundation, cheers in advance
Hi all
Discovered a sewage pipe in the back wall of the bathroom, in between the bricks. Not sure if this is normal, if not the explanation lies in the two words 'glasgow' and 'tenement'.
It seems fine, I am boarding over that wall so I can just leave it, but would it be a good idea to fill it...
We're looking to install a wall hung wc and hope to include it in a run of units. I'm thinking we can do it with a half height frame and normal concealed system. Can we do this against a stud wall or do we need a solid wall to attach the frame or cistern to?
Also which makes do you recommend?
What method would you suggest to filling this void, it is plywood at the back and then wet wall, prior to putting in some plumbers gold round the pipe work????
Hi,
I've discovered the soil pipe that runs from my main bathroom (1st floor) down through an internal brick wall void has a large hole in it. I've stopped using the bathroom as the water running out of light switches in the porch below when i showered didn't seem great!
What type of...
