A system is a group of interacting or interrelated elements that act according to a set of rules to form a unified whole. Hi. A new house regulation for a 2 zone heating system because it's bigger that 150sqm.
I'm I right in saying zone 1 should be all of the downstairs radiators and zone 2 all of the upstairs radiators ?
I have thermostat room programmer down the stairs and another one upstairs.
I think the two...
I have a Greenstar 4000 30KW combi boiler, and am planning to partially drain down the system to move a radiator. There is a blue lever ("keyless filling link") underneath for gradually topping up the pressure after bleeding a radiator, but I suspect this would be a very slow way to refill the...
I am currently in the middle of a complete rennovation of my house and need some advice on what kind of boiler to get.
The house will have 4 bathrooms in total. One on the ground floor (shower), two on the 1st floor (en suite has a shower and family bathroom has a bathtub and seperate shower)...
Any ideas why a sealed system with a combi could be grabbing air. The upstairs rads have air in and the system reads 3 bar cold. When the air is bleed out the system returns to 1 bar or less. It's an ideal instinct boiler basically a logic.

HI, we have replaced 3 manifolds (1 upstairs 2 downstairs) with new Warmup units. The installation manual from Warmup states that to fill the system you have to fill each circuit in turn using the fill / drain points on each manifold. However, my plumber said that he always uses the filling loop...
My heat only gas boiler is drained from the boiler drain valve - There is no water in the F&E tank. The hot water vented cylinder is removed. So far so good
Twice this evening I heard radiator gurgling noises which frightened the life out of me
I cant seem to reproduce the noise and I cant get...
Hello everyone,
I have a problem that has stumped two plumbers so I thought i'd come to a forum to see if anyone out there has had a similar problem.
I live in a top floor flat with its own water supply. The tap in the kitchen has 12litres per minute flow (near where the water enters the...
during drain down of system with all trc open and bleed valves open water just continues to drain out and boiler pressure remains at 1.5bar.Baxi combi boiler 105
Hi, would appreciate any thoughts on the below. I have an almost 10yr old Ferroli Modena 32S HE system boiler. (I am aware of their reputation! ) 2 weeks ago HW went lukewarm. When HW was called, the rads came on. The cylinder motorised valve has been replaced today, but it's not fixed the...
I’m about to replace my Honeywell Smartfit system with a conventional 2 channel heating pack (I’ll need new valves to replace the low voltage Smartfit units).
I was initially looking at something basic like the Drayton Twin Zone Heating Control Pack, but would prefer a wireless stat if...
Hi there,
I am renting at the moment. Our boiler is an Ideal System 15. Within an hour or two of moving in and turning the heat on the boiler lost pressure. Now it loses pressure any time that it is turned on. If the boiler pressure is set below 1.5 bars cold it will lose all pressure in about...
Hi there, thanks for taking the time to read this. I've been trying to diagnose why my gas consumption is so high and been doing various measurements and tests.
With the UFH, my setup is about 10 room zones connected on two separate UF manifolds linked to one UF pump with a return blending...
Good day,
I am not a plumber/heating engineer and don't don't tackle plumbing or electrics, having done a bit of both with variable success :). But I am an avid researcher and like to understand how things work and get the best out of them. The Glowworm Combi boiler that was in my small 2 bed...
Hi all,
I have been busy renovation a house that I bought a year ago during the winter. During the summer we switch off the heating system to conserve electricity as we are not living in the house. I removed some of the radiators during the wall renovations, refitted and bled the system. As soon...
As per the title. We have a property where the boiler has worked fine in the 10 months since it’s last service.
Now throws up this error code randomly, and doesn’t reset. Our man has checked all the usual culprits. Condensate is fine, not backing up.
He can put the boiler in High Rate mode and...
Replaced the head of a Honeywell 2port valve on heating and wired into an old block (S) like for like. However, when either water OR heating called for, both valves open!
Ideas?
