Safety is the state of being "safe", the condition of being protected from harm or other danger. Safety can also refer to the control of recognized hazards in order to achieve an acceptable level of risk.
Hello everybody I am new to this group and I am not a gas engineer but have some basic plumbing experience.
Anyway, I have recently bought a house and the previous owner had a worcester 28i greenstar boiler fitted in 2011 by British Gas. There is paperwork to suggest it has been serviced on a...

Is this check just to turn on the hot water tap in the bathroom, keep the water running for a few minutes in order to see that the boiler is working, verbally say everything is fine and leave the customer's property after 20 minutes getting paid £ 90 to do so. No kind of tests were undertaken...
My Annual Gas Safety check expired 2 months ago and after repeated emails to the Landlord asking when it would be done (every year its about 2 or 3 months late --going on now for 17 years ) the gas fitter from last year attended --he spent the entire 15 minutes in the airing cupboard where the...
Firstly, thankyou for including me in your membership. I do general jobs and may ask for help in several different areas from time to time.
Some time ago a pensioner customer, for whom I do odd jobs, had a smart meter fitted for gas and another for electricity. The fitter went ahead with the...

When testing the safety device on a combi boiler (ideal instinct). I know to make a fault, by turning off the gas supply. If the safety device is working correctly the boiler will go to lock out within 2 minutes and won't fire again once the gas is reinstated without resetting the boiler. What...
can someone show me the correct way of filling this form out? I was told I don't need to take max and min ratios because it's not a service. This would be great.
Do you charge if the tenant isn't in it doesnt answer the door on a landlord gas safety check?
I don't do many of them but just wasted 30 minutes ringing the door bell and calling the landlord.
No answer!!
Hi, I’m newly qualified and just need to clear things up. I shadow a few gas engineers still as I want to be 100% certain on what I am doing. I was at a landlord safety check yesterday and he was unable to do the operating pressure as it was a zero governor gas valve. So we done a gas rate...
My static caravan, running off bottled LPG, had its boiler service and gas safety check carried out (at, in my view, an exorbitant price of £170) in late February.
The gas engineer came back yesterday to remove the lounge gas fire and cap off its supply.
In order that I have a record of him...
Hi everyone,

Thanks
Jim.
