Really can’t see what this has to do with Plumbing unless you want your kids to go to uni to study Plumbing😁. Fortunately I don’t have any😁, not that I’m aware of🤣 but you never know the odd one might come crawling out of the wood work at some point looking for money🤣 they’d better be quick I’m...
Good'ay
Wondering what I have been doing wrong or what I should be doing differently.
Have had some jobs lately where I will carry out a gas test on residential work and it will fail, I will isolate stove, hwu and any bayonet connections and still fail, I can do up to 6 testes on one job and...
We live in a row of 4 terrace houses running perpendicular to a main road, we are the end terrace furthest from the road. We often lose water pressure and sometimes we get no flow of water at all (particularly annoying when showering). When the water stops, the taps sound like they are drawing...
Hi, I'm new here and appreciate any help or ideas on the below.
I suspect there's a underfloor leak as I have a damp patch on the wall, rotten floorboards and skirting boards between the bathroom and the living room. Leak tracing (gas, thermo, acoustic) concluded there is no leak despite the...
How did your kids do in their exams? Have they got the grades they wanted?
Seems like it has been a bit of a shambles this year to be honest. I do feel sorry for the kids.
Hopefully now the government is letting the teachers give the grades it won't be as bad now.
I heard BTECs are still not...
I had to move an existing Vokera unica 32i today for a kitchen upgrade so I stuck my analyser in afterwards, my ratio is fine and reading 0.0011 but the C02 is 9.7 and 213ppm which is high according to the MI.
I’ll be back on the job tomorrow, it’s an empty house and the boiler has been left...
Hi
Our Vokera boiler was installed just over a year ago. The Heat Exchanger gave up the ghost last week and the engineer took a water sample and stated that is was likely that the system hadn't been flushed property and there were still chemicals present. I have received the water results but...
Wanting to ascertain the flow rate from various taps and have seen this Weir flow cup thing. Will that give me different. or more accurate, figures of flow rate than timing a delivery into a marked container? Latter seems an easy obvious solution without resorting to spending £20 on a gizmo.
Our CO alarms went off the other day. I did all the tests in manafacters instructions plus a few more to ensure fire is safe to use.
I conducted a combustion gas analysis and it threw up a surprising result.
CO2 6.0
Co 350
Ratio 0.0065
Now I would not usually feel happy about leaving this...
Installer’s voice – the national domestic gas boiler survey 2017
What have nearly 600 engineers got to say about the boilers they work on every day?
Whenever 2 engineers get together down the pub for a pint, or indeed log onto an online forum, they will invariably discuss the various...

I was at a service with a tradesman today and the fga was fine so was the inlet pressure at meter but the gas rate came in at 20 odd kw on a worcester junior 28i
He gas rated with the tap open full, he told me the gas rate was low because the flow...
