remove
Remove before flight is a safety warning often seen on removable aircraft and spacecraft components, typically in the form of a red ribbon, to indicate that a device, such as a protective cover or a pin to prevent the movement of mechanical parts, is only used when the aircraft is on the ground (parked or taxiing). On small general aviation aircraft, this may include a pitot tube cover or a control lock. The warning appears in English only. Other ribbons labelled "pull to arm" or similar are found on missiles and other weapon systems that are not mounted on aircraft.
Remove-before-flight components are often referred to as "red tag items". Typically, the ground crew will have a checklist of remove-before-flight items. Some checklists will require the ribbon or tag to be attached to the checklist to verify it has been removed. Non-removal of a labelled part has caused airplane crashes, like that of Aeroperú Flight 603 and, in 1975, a Royal Nepal Airlines Pilatus PC-6 Porter carrying the wife and daughter of Sir Edmund Hillary. It is common to see key rings, T-shirts, bag tags, belts and other such products with this ribbon, especially for people who work in aviation or are aviation enthusiasts.A green tag is sometimes used to identify components that must be attached before flight in a similar way to remove before flight components.
I replaced the gland on the hot kitchen tap and successfully stopped it constantly dribbling. Problem niw is that the hot tap in the downstairs loo is dripping more. I thought I'd just do the same, but I can't get into it!
Have removed the little cap, and undone an Allen head screw inside, which...
Hello We're having the gas meter removed and a new one will be fitted in a few months after some alterations to the house is finished.
We need to take the boiler and everything else out also.
So is it safe to take the boiler and other gas things out or will there still be gas in there?
Hi all
I have a bathroom mixer tap as shown in photo.
Recently and fairly suddenly i noticed it becoming stiff to operate the lever - both when lifting or rotating.
I decided something was likely wrong and likely to get worse or have something break. So figured it was best to dissasemble...
Hi, My tap is drippping and I wanted to try and replace the washer myself but am struggling to get the top part off.
I have removed the lever handle and everything online says there should be a grub screw inside the hole that I can use an Allen key to open but it seems to be empty.
I don't...
Hi all, I recently bought one of those under the seat bidet sprayers for my toilet, but cannot for the life of me work out how to get the seat off in order to install it! I'm not a dumb person and reasonably handy, but there seems to be no way to access the fixings, not from underneath, top or...
A plumber removed 1.3 m of copper pipe on a straight run(he said there was a leak) and replaced it with 2 No push fit 300mm flexible connectors, when asked why he used this method he would not reply.
Can anyone throw some light on this for me.
Hi all, I'm new here so apologies firstly if this is posted in the wrong area, but I am after some advice please.
I'm an extremely DIY novice, but our Miele Washing Machine has encounted an error (check drain/ check inlet) over the weekend. After Googling and Youtubing I feel I have located one...

I have a toilet seat that is impossible to remove. I've never encountered anything like it before.

Hi team,
We just moved into a new property that has a gas stove where once there was a fireplace. The chimney is still there so we would like to remove the gas stove and put there a real fireplace. From what I can see, there's a metal tube that goes from my gas meter into this stove. Do I need...

Hi,
As some of you are aware, I am currently stuck in Italy running a shop that has nothing to do with plumbing :(
Yesterday I thought I'd got most of what I needed to get done by lunchtime and was able to take the rest of the day 'off' (which actually means try to get done the things that are...
Hi, I hope someone can help or point me in the right direction.
We have a leaky kitchen mixer tap. I thought it would be a straight-forward cartridge change but I'm having difficulties removing the actual cartridge from the tap handle. I unscrewed the tap handle from the mixer unit, expecting...
Is anyone familiar with the fixing on this 1960-70's "OSY" branded mixer tap knob?
I am trying to change the washers but there seems to be no obvious way to remove the knobs. There is no screw or nut to release them. It might be push-fit but don't want to force it before confirming that is the...
