Pan-Africanism is a worldwide movement that aims to encourage and strengthen bonds of solidarity between all indigenous and diaspora ethnic groups of African descent. Based on a common goal dating back to the Atlantic slave trade, the movement extends beyond continental Africans with a substantial support base among the African diaspora in the Americas and Europe.Pan-Africanism can be said to have its origins in the struggles of the African people against enslavement and colonization and this struggle may be traced back to the first resistance on slave ships—rebellions and suicides—through the constant plantation and colonial uprisings and the "Back to Africa" movements of the 19th century. Based on the belief that unity is vital to economic, social, and political progress and aims to "unify and uplift" people of African descent. At its core, pan-Africanism is a belief that "African people, both on the continent and in the diaspora, share not merely a common history, but a common destiny". Pan-Africanist intellectual, cultural, and political movements tend to view all Africans and descendants of Africans as belonging to a single "race" and/or sharing cultural unity. Pan-Africanism posits a sense of a shared historical fate for Africans in America, West Indies, and on the continent, itself centered on the Atlantic trade in slaves, African slavery, and European imperialism.Pan-African thought influenced the establishment of the Organisation of African Unity (now the African Union) in 1963. The African Union Commission has its seat in Addis Ababa and the Pan-African Parliament has its seat in Johannesburg and Midrand.
I'm trying to install a toilet but the waste pipe and outlet from the pan are misaligned. I therefore think I need a flexible connector, but all the ones I can find are too long.... the gap between WC and waste pipe is 135mm and the shortest connectors I can find are 150mm. Does anyone know...
My pan outlet is 70mm from the wall but my existing soil pipe which is fixed in the floor is 200mm from the wall, what do I do?
Go for a beer sounds a good idea to me.
Good afternoon all. Several weeks ago I noticed a damp patch either side of a close coupled Twyfords WC that we have in our shower room. I have been unable to determine where the dampness in the tile grouting on the floor is coming from. I have looked carefully on several occasions but I...
Hi, Water is leaking into the pan. I am pretty sure the part that lets water into the cistern is the problem.
So, I bought a Flowmaster Bottom Entry Fill Vale 0.5"... and it won't fit through the hole in the bottom of the cistern.
Any ideas as to how I solve the problem? I am a pretty decent...

Can you still get these?
The outlet is underneath the pan.
The flush is normal back entry.
The fella ended up paying a fortune for a 'dock M pack' (one of those disable wc kits) which brings the pan forward enough to connect to the drain.

Hi Guys,
We live in a 4year old, 3 floor town house with a toilet on each floor (very useful when you reach a certain age!). Recently I have noticed that the water level in the toilet pan drops by 50-75mm soon after flushing. The flush works well with no rise of level in the pan which might...
I have returned from Egypt and I just wondered if anyone else had come across the the washdown facilty they have there (its basicly a bum wash) similar to a bidet, but this isnt a spray
Its a fitting that fits at the back of the pan and sends a jet of water, at the back is a valve which turns...
I have changed the orientation of my new toilet. It has moved from the wall it was originally on to the wall next to it. This means I am now taking the connection to the soil stack around one corner and then into the toilet at it's new position.
I am boxing all the pipework in and will have a...
One important part of a bathroom is the WC, loo, toilet, bidet or glazed ceramic pan.
How do I fix a toilet, WC or loo pan down to a tiled floor
Many units are supplied with heavier duty fixings like M6, M8, M10 coach bolts or deep screws.
The reason for heavy fixings is that the unit needs...

Hi all,
Currently sorting out my dad's bathrom/toilet area and have a problem I'm not sure how to overcome. Basically the soil stack is of a cast type, to which I've trimmed back to make it less intrusive into the room. The toilet pan position is approximately 1 metre away from the soil...

Hi folks
fitting out my new bathroom - can anyone advise which pan connectors to use, reference the picture? I am thinking 1 x 135 soil pipe bend out of floor (to maintain fall), 90 bend then short pan connector on to toilet outlet - is this the right way to go? other option is 2 x 90 bends...
Just been up to the log cabin up the garden to find the toilet floor wet. Obviously all pipes drained down over the winter period, so I was wondering where all the water had come from. Opened the toilet to find it had a block of ice in it and had cracked. Thinking back to all the outside toilets...
