guess
A guess (or an act of guessing) is a swift conclusion drawn from data directly at hand, and held as probable or tentative, while the person making the guess (the guesser) admittedly lacks material for a greater degree of certainty. A guess is also an unstable answer, as it is "always putative, fallible, open to further revision and interpretation, and validated against the horizon of possible meanings by showing that one interpretation is more probable than another in light of what we already know". In many of its uses, "the meaning of guessing is assumed as implicitly understood", and the term is therefore often used without being meticulously defined. Guessing may combine elements of deduction, induction, abduction, and the purely random selection of one choice from a set of given options. Guessing may also involve the intuition of the guesser, who may have a "gut feeling" about which answer is correct without necessarily being able to articulate a reason for having this feeling.
Ok, following on from my drain tap thread, does anyone have an opinion about this vibration noise. It started a few days ago there's no lockout or fault code and everything works as it should except for the noise. I fancy it's the pump but as they go for about £150 I want to be as sure as i can...
A month ago, I asked for help in stopping a slow(1 drop of water/second) bathtub faucet leak and was advised to call a plumber to fix it. Great (and expensive) advice, which I would have taken if it were in a house I lived in and was responsible for water usage.
I live in a condo and the 269...
Hello all, just found a small drip on a pipe from our open fire back boiler. There is a oil fired utility boiler and an immersion heater. There are 4 pipes coming from the back boiler and the photo show one of these with a fitting which looks like it came out of the ark. Can any one tell me what...
I understand this will need to be replaced by a gas safe engineer, I have no problem with that at all. I want to stay safe.
Problem is last year we had problem with boiler and didn't know any gas safe engineers so picked one from trusted trader. Did not have a good experience at all.
Anyway the...

Hi, anyone know if there is anywhere to send knackered Danfoss oil pumps to get them recycled? I have collected a few in my workshop now and I don't just want to send them for scrap. Cheers
The full timers on holiday so anyone going to sea off North Devon or boating across from Wales, I'll be reet peed off having to go and rescue you!!

I have a problem with a toilet, directly behind this in another room there is a shower and i'm assuming they are both connected. The bathrooms are fully tiled so accessing the pipework isn't really an option.
The problem is that when the shower is on, the toilet keeps running. Not all of the...
Got a callout to look at water pouring through a ceiling in a very posh part of London. Water coming from upstairs flat, belonging to a certain Liam Gallagher! Sadly he wasn't there but I'm going back next week to fix it properly so might yet get a selfie with him... :D
clues:
1. it is bubble wrapped to protect me
2.I need a new one as my last one is lost
3. It came from Williams for free
4. It came with a boiler
5. It has tape on it
