freeze
Freeze drying, also known as lyophilisation or cryodesiccation, is a low temperature dehydration process that involves freezing the product, lowering pressure, then removing the ice by sublimation. This is in contrast to dehydration by most conventional methods that evaporate water using heat.Because of the low temperature used in processing, the quality of the rehydrated product is excellent. In case solid objects like strawberries are freeze dried the original shape of the product is maintained. If the product to be dried is a liquid, like often seen in pharmaceutical applications, the instant properties of the final product are optimized by the combination of excipients (i.e., inactive ingredients). Primary applications of freeze drying include biological (e.g., bacteria and yeasts), biomedical (e.g., surgical transplants), food processing (e.g., coffee) and preservation.
Hi, looking for advise about freezing a pipe on the central heating system. I’m adding a new radiator to the system in another room and thought that a good way would be to freeze the pipe where I need to take off and return to the other pipe. I will be using push fit joints. My question is if I...
Afternoon,
I have a virtually new one of these for sale, they are now £2,060.00 new direct from Freeze Master or Broughtons. This used Freeze Master 690E Pipe Freezer 110v is used for freezing pipes from 15mm up to 61mm (2" iron). It comes with 7 pairs of reducers 15, 22, 28, 35, 42, 49, 54mm...
Hi, I would appreciate your opinion on this. Our heat pump broke down while we were away and the temperature in the house dropped. A plumber came out to look over the house and check for damage. A couple of taps broke but we had turned off the water so no major problems that cant be fixed...
Hi, does anybody know what gas is in the freeze master's pipe freezing units, mine could do with a check and a top up. My local aircon branch said they might be able to re-gas the unit if it contained a gas they had. Thanks in advance.
Been doing ok so I treated myself to a rothy pipe freeze machine. Up to 28mm - very impressed with the tests I've done in the yard at work.
Does anyone use these, we always work on a per job rather than per hour basis and im amazed when I think of all the times I could have done with one and all...
Hi all,
Freeze master 280 or Rothenburg rofrost 28??
Which is the better and why??
I have read that the clamps with bungee straps on the freeze master can get into awkward spots but what's the reliability like on both?
Figure if I'm going to be spending around £800 I may as well ask the people...
Freeze Master 350D machine. A bit hit and miss, hence the price - could do with servicing, or it's possible to send them to Freezemaster for complete overhaul. £200 including carriage.
I think one of the arms on my Freeze master may be failing? It seems to take longer to freeze. Has anyone had theirs serviced and how much does it cost?
Thanks in advance.
Hi all,

A quick question where do you install the mag filter on an external boiler installation? I know ideally it should be on the boiler return at its lowest point before the boiler. I am just a bit concerned about freezing etc. As I don't want it installed in the loft either which...
Bit of a tricky one. The stop tap in pavement is very old and does nothing. Water co says 10 months to come out and replace!!! The stop tap inside the Victorian house is under an access panel in floor inside front door as the tap is in void under ground floor. The pipe from under garden is lead...
A few on ebay but what are the robust brands.
Just not sure about the rothenburger offering but could be persuaded (rofrost)
Seen a few eco-freezes but they are rubbish right ???
Honestly are they worth the money? I keep looking at them wondering if one will save me time. I always have a couple cans of freeze squirt on the van don't tend to use a great deal.
Has anyone got one and its it of much use
Well was not a happy chap yesterday.

I have a 32mm condensate pipe sticking out the wall for a combi.
It comes out the wall about 1m from the ground. It then needs to turn left and travel 3m where it will join right at the bottom of a soil pipe through a strap on boss.
My question is - can I put the 3m bit (as long as it is...
Hi, is this possible to do? I'm trying to install a towel rad and need to move pipework, and i really want to avoid draining down the system at this time of year. Pipework is also microbore if that make any difference.
I guess there are some ways to join plastic pipe to this but i didn't...
Hi,
I have a 32mm mdpe pipe in a warehouse that I need to re-route. We can't shut the supply off so I wanted to freeze it to work on it. Is an electric pipe freezer likely to damage the pipe by making it too cold / brittle? Don't want to get halfway through the job and find it splits or cracks...
on a dry rot/damp job, ripped the kitchen out today, the main stop tap and pipework is corroded quite bad, (ill add photo tomorrow) id like to swap the tap but can not find a external tap anywhere, I know its a spider main but cant find the tap, any ideas
