fitting
Curve fitting is the process of constructing a curve, or mathematical function, that has the best fit to a series of data points, possibly subject to constraints. Curve fitting can involve either interpolation, where an exact fit to the data is required, or smoothing, in which a "smooth" function is constructed that approximately fits the data. A related topic is regression analysis, which focuses more on questions of statistical inference such as how much uncertainty is present in a curve that is fit to data observed with random errors. Fitted curves can be used as an aid for data visualization, to infer values of a function where no data are available, and to summarize the relationships among two or more variables. Extrapolation refers to the use of a fitted curve beyond the range of the observed data, and is subject to a degree of uncertainty since it may reflect the method used to construct the curve as much as it reflects the observed data.

Hi All,
I am having a problem with fitting a mixer shower in our spare bathroom, I live in a new build flat (6 years old) and the shower that was originally on there was forced on, which is why it always leaked on the left side because the threads never truly lined up.
I took the shower...

Hi,
The plastic connector/convertor which the shower hose attaches to has been leaking and needs replaced.
Beneath a cover is a screw which attaches the plastic unit to the protruding fitting.
Can somebody please tell me what this fitting is called and ideally point me in the direction of a...
good morning,
we're fitting a concealed shower valve into a stud wall. the instructions say there's depth adjustment of 15mm. how do we adjust the depth? the instructions and youtube videos aren't that great on the small details.

Hi, apologies if this is a stupid question but I'm a little lost at the moment.
Complete amateur when it comes to plumbing (although I have replaced radiators and valves etc.), but we recently had our bathroom refurbed. Our boiler is in the bathroom cupboard which, pre-work, had a British Gas...
Hi,
I'm having some issues with my current water main leaking. We had an extension put onto our house back in 2013, during which we moved our kitchen into the extension on the opposite side of the house.
The stop tap was positioned in what would become the middle of our lounge, so the plumber...
Hi,
I'm new to UK plumbing system and got lost as don't know names/diameters/availability of the parts I need to do the job.
I guess I'd need to remove one of the copper fittings and order a flexible fitting of some sort and diameter. Don't worry about the length I would get a suitable one...
Just had first fix of concealed shower valve. The wall plate elbows that will feed a shower arm and bath spout are not quite level. So the shower arm will not be horizontal and neither will the bath spout. Plumbers been back but still not right. They tell me there will be a couple of mill play...
Here is a pic of a fitting on a duplex stainless buffer cylinder. The thread looks to be 1" BSPP.
Any idea of the best way to connect to this? Is there some kind of gasket/o-ring/olive meant for these? or is it best to use a tapered fitting with pipe with dope and hemp?
Forgive my ignorance.
I was performing a test of a new manifold today, using mains water pressure to the 22mm flow pipe and back through the return. Unfortunately it failed as one of the joints where the 22mm copper pipe connects to the manifold failed and water leaked out.
I'm now wondering...
