elbows
The elbow is the region between the upper and lower parts of the arm that surrounds the elbow joint. The elbow includes prominent landmarks such as the olecranon, the elbow pit, and the lateral and the medial epicondyles of the humerus. The elbow joint is a hinge joint between the upper arm and the forearm; more specifically between the humerus in the upper arm and the radius and ulna in the forearm which allows the forearm and hand to be moved towards and away from the body. The term elbow is specifically used for humans and other primates, and in other vertebrates forelimb plus joint is used. The name for the elbow in Latin is cubitus, and so the word cubital is used in some elbow-related terms, as in cubital nodes for example.
See photos attached.
The issue is that when the elbows are aligned up in the direction they need to go, they are loose, not seated.
How is this resolved? Is there some kind of brass washer I can put in to take up the turns?
Any guidance appreciated. Thanks.

Hi. I thought I'd do my bit and return a little of the help I have received on this brilliant forum.
I recently sent this tweet to Drayton

If so, how. Can it be remounted or are they one time use...
I have two 0.5m long extensions and two pairs of 45 degree bends for Vaillant Commercial Boilers. Internal 110mm and external 160mm diameter. Offers invited. Located in North East Hampshire j4a off M3.
Hey guys,
just wondering, can you bend 22mm 90's up into the valves or is there not enough pipe left? I know you can with 15 but I've always used elbows, I've never tried it and I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to give it a a go
Thanks

Hi
Sorry this might be a silly question, I'm only a DIY'er. I bought some 22mm elbows by mistake that are 'street fittings' I will be able to use them but it seems to mean using a straight connector as well.
What are they normally used for?
Thanks for your help.

I have added a new radiator and pipework but unfortunately I have a joist that is directly below where I need a 15mm elbow to connect up to the radiator. I have used plastic speedfit piping and fittings throughout which means if I notch out the joist the notch would be too big as the plastic...

Im just in the process of renewing a heating system and fitting the boiler in the loft. The boiler is a 38Kw Vaillant and the run from the gas meter to the boiler is 10 mtrs with 8 elbows. Off of the run i need to also supply a 5 burner gas hob that is another 10 mtrs the other side of the house...
Afternoon all,
Here comes an unconventional post:
I'm not actually looking to do any plumbing, rather I'm looking to use cheap PVC pipes and fittings as a building material for a DIY project. The problem that I've come across is, that in the UK, I can only seem to be able to find over...

Hi,
I've fitted a bath shower mixer with the chrome elbows connected to the water supply leaving them on the bath to screw the tap onto by 22mm nuts. I've put ptfe tape on the elbows but cannot get them to stop leaking (very slight drip) if I over tighten them they leak more. Any suggestions...
This is a cylinder I did about a month ago – But are D1 & D2 acceptable? I got thinking about it after reading another post last night, so I did a little research. Does the minimum of 300mm before a bend apply to D1 as well as D2? I also have 2 elbows in D1, so what length of pipe does an elbow...
I recently had a complete replacement central heating system installed (Worcester 28Ri). The work is of a good standard with 15mm copper pipework with soldered end feed couplings throughout. I have however discovered that, for some unknown reason, in the attic they have used a pair of plastic...
Just fitted a new shower in my house, and only seem to be getting about 11 litres per min of water out of the shower, when the boiler states it should be nearer 15. I have investigated this and changed a few slightly undersized fitting from the thermostatic shower body to the shower head. Is...
