drainage
Drainage is the natural or artificial removal of a surface's water and sub-surface water from an area with excess of water. The internal drainage of most agricultural soils is good enough to prevent severe waterlogging (anaerobic conditions that harm root growth), but many soils need artificial drainage to improve production or to manage water supplies.
I have a Sulby disabled shower tray and the water drains really slow, the the water builds up while having shower. I have tried drain unlocked and also tried a snake which does bring up hair etc, the shower will drain well for about two days and then the starts to be slow again. Could there be...
Had a few brown spots on the face and such from a blocked 4" line which was at head height and no way of rodding or plunging, so had to remove screwed access plug and get a shower
Best I've seen was changing a cast stack (3 floors) on the old BT building next to Cardiff arms park (now...

Hello,
This is my first post and I hope you could offer me some advice please.
We recently had a new boiler fitted, the boiler and radiators are working well, but the finish is awful.
The Condensate Drainage Pipe runs externally to the soil pipe, not ideal, but were having a conservatory...
Hi all
I dismantled the kitchen sink plumbing and cleaned the pipes to improve the slow drainage. However, after I connected the pipes back together and ran the tap for say 20 secs water started to leak from the top of the sink trap connections as circled in the photo.
I've added ptfe tape...
Hi, a developer I'm working for has had some contractors install some drainage. I've told him I'm not happy with it but I don't know enough about it to advise him 100%. There are 2
flats, one first floor 1 ground. They have bought the kitchen waste from the 1st floor down in 40mm which the...
When they block up.
Only done one and I just un-did it from trap and turned it on and it emptied ok into a bucket. But doesn't sound very thorough or likely to work every time.
Any tricks/tips?
Thanks
Hi all, I was hoping for some advice on how to run a new soil pipe for a new toilet in an extension, into the underground drainage? The customer said there is a old soil pipe there and he will dig it up for me, but what fitting do I use to tee into it if it's just a running underground clay...

Got called to a place yesterday that had a problem with the utility room sink waste backing up and leaking into the room.
When I examined it I could see why; there are two 40mm waste pipes, a drain from the dishwasher, and a drain from the washing machine - all feeding into one - yes one- 40mm...

Hi - I moved into a new house recently (quite old - built in 1915). There is one bathroom and the waste from the kitchen sink, bathroom basin and bath drain into a gully outside the kitchen. The toilet waste goes into a vented waste pipe which also has dishwasher waste attached.
The set up...
Hi folks,
I'm trying to work out drainage for garden room with 1 x toilet, 1 x basin, 1 x shower. Because the drain has to run several metres to get to the building, there is very little height to play with to connect into it.
I have attached a sketch of what I'm thinking of doing...
Drainage for a commercial steam cooker?
Ive got to do the plumbing connections for a commercial steam oven / cooker. The water supply to it is simple enough, but the drainage is a little tricky. Its got a 50mm waste connection on the back of it, would these normally run into a gully? Im...
Hi, this is my first post on this forum so hello.

Hi. I live in a bungalow and for weeks now have been having drainage smells in the bathroom. Our plumber has now disconnected all the plastic pipes and removed the toiled and has sealed off the grey waste pipe which goes down to the main sewer. His thoughts were that once this had been done, if...

Hi. My washing machine flexi drainage pipe sits into a vertical plastic waste pipe that discharges into the main drain. Is it possible to get a one way valve to fit onto the end of the vertical plastic pipe to prevent a back flow into my kitchen if the pipe ever blocked?
Ok so I have taken all pipes apart and cleaned them and removed blockages, but when I run even the smallest amount of water it remains in the trap and backs up the sink.
How can this be a blockage further down the pipes if after the trap those pipes are clear?
Any advice please I am out of...
