cross
A cross is a geometrical figure consisting of two intersecting lines or bars, usually perpendicular to each other. The lines usually run vertically and horizontally. A cross of oblique lines, in the shape of the Latin letter X, is termed a saltire in heraldic terminology.
The cross in its various shapes and forms was a symbol of various beliefs. In pre-Christian times it was a pagan religious symbol throughout Europe and western Asia. In ancient times, the effigy of a man hanging on a cross was set up in the fields to protect the crops. The cross was even considered a male symbol of the phallic Tree of Life; thus it often appeared in conjunction with the female-genital circle or oval, to signify the sacred marriage, as in Egyptian amulet Nefer with male cross and female orb, considered as an amulet of blessedness, a charm of sexual harmony.

Hi everyone,
How do you know if there is a cross over with the pluming system in flat? All pipe work under sink, bathroom etc in the flat itself are legit but the rising main is in the attic, there is one rising main pipe (22mm) which has two pipes teed onto it that deliver water to three...
Hello
I need to cross over an existing copper hot water pipe with a cold 15mm mains copper pipe. Is there a standard I need to adhere to in terms of clearance?
Attached is a ground floor picture of the soil pipe in our home. There was originally a toilet which has now been permanently capped off and you can also see a sink waste pipe attached.
My plan is to drill out one of the 50mm sockets directly opposite the current sink waste for a new 40mm...
The inside brass threads in my Moen rough in two handle Roman tub valve (Moen | Bathroom & Kitchen Faucets, Shower Heads, Accessories & More - https://www.moen.com/products/M-Pact/M-Pact-Two-Handle-Roman-Tub-Valve-10-Center-1-2-CC-Connection/4796) were cross threaded with the nylon cartridge...
Hello. I have an old shower valve that needs replacing. No product name, or set screw. It's got a cross handle with a diverter above the handle. My plumber thought it was similar to an American Standard T0646002.002 (except cross handle not a bar) but the insides are not the same. This was in...

I've had a new boiler installed in one of my buy to lets and the tenant called up after a few months to say they were getting a slight shock through an adjacent tap. My electrician said that this was due to the boiler not being earthed/cross bonded. The guy who installed the boiler said this...
afternoon all, anyone come across these taps? Need to change a cartridge and can’t work out how heads come off! Tried the obvious pulling etc, on a Belfast sink so can’t get to the back to fit new taps..... Cheers all
Hi All,
First post but I've been reading a few threads on here and love the honest, and sometimes much needed, blunt advice. I hope you can advise...
First off I'm not a plumber (I know, I know) but need to reroute some existing copper water pipes (currently a mixture of 15mm cold and a short...

Since October last year we have had a problem where the boiler goes to red light (turns off) whilst trying to heat the house. The problem was very intermittent from once a week to now at least once a day if not more. It also seems to go to red light when running the taps, for example whilst...
