chemicals
A chemical substance is a form of matter having constant chemical composition and characteristic properties. Some references add that chemical substance cannot be separated into its constituent elements by physical separation methods, i.e., without breaking chemical bonds. Chemical substances can be simple substances, chemical compounds, or alloys. Chemical elements may or may not be included in the definition, depending on expert viewpoint.Chemical substances are often called 'pure' to set them apart from mixtures. A common example of a chemical substance is pure water; it has the same properties and the same ratio of hydrogen to oxygen whether it is isolated from a river or made in a laboratory. Other chemical substances commonly encountered in pure form are diamond (carbon), gold, table salt (sodium chloride) and refined sugar (sucrose). However, in practice, no substance is entirely pure, and chemical purity is specified according to the intended use of the chemical.
Chemical substances exist as solids, liquids, gases, or plasma, and may change between these phases of matter with changes in temperature or pressure and time. Chemical substances may be combined or converted to others by means of chemical reactions.
Reduce boiler breakdowns.
Magnetite is the number one contributor to heating breakdowns. Every day corrosion occurs within a heating system. If left untreated, this builds up magnetite causing cold spots on radiators, making heating inefficient

Hi, planning to powerflush a microbore system, it will be a cold flush as need to go through the pump head. Just asking what chemicals people are using, i have been using Adey recently does anyone get any better results using anything else on a cold flush?
Cheers!
Can anyone tell me what this phrase means on an invoice? I've just had a new condensing boiler installed to replace a combi that was 21 years old. Is the work below enough? (The engineer said he was doing a powerflush - is that what this is? Or should I be worried?)...

So I've just ordered an Anton Flowclean Plus - which the specs say has a much higher flow rate than others and only for £780 including a plate heat exchanger adapter and hose extension kit.
Anyway, my question is: what are the best chemicals to use? I've used fernox but it really froths up -...

Hi all. Just a quick question. When you guys carry out a boiler swap do you always treat the existing system with a chemical before you actually install the new appliance? If so, what do you recommend. If not, why not? Cheers.
my system comprises of:
FE tank in loft.
ideal classic rs250 about 10m run of 28mm to HW tank CH pump circuit.
3 double panel rads.
9 single panel rads.
unvented HW tank.
do you think I need to use 2ltres of stuff like inhibitor? as it says on the container upto 10 rads.
Hi I am thinking about treating myself to a power flush unit. I never had one before, what one do u recommend and what chemicals. I seen a few used ones on eBay but if it busts half way through the first job it's just a waste of cash. I keen looking at the kamco 40 £1000 + 300 for the magnet...
I have an old section of 22mm copper pipe on the return side from the rads to the boiler thats reduced in size due to the buildup of iron down its entire length, is it posable to replace this for plastic as its difficult to do in copper again? If so what is the minimum distance from the boiler I...
