Auto Bypass Valve OR Proportional Pressure pump mode – how to choose?

I have read that an Auto Bypass Valve (ABV) is not compatible with a pump set to Proportional Pressure (PP) mode. I have a recently fitted Vaillant EcoFit Pure 430 heat-only boiler + Vaillant SensoComfort weather sensing controls + 15 rads (12 with TRVs) across 2 CH zones + a static bypass...

    Loud clunk from motorised valve

When either of the 2 port motorised valves closes, I get a loud clunk. A Honeywell automatic bypass valve was fitted a year or so back to replace a gate valve bypass. I'm happy its in the correct position & orientation, Its set to 0.2 bar. I don't believe we had this clunk last year. I suspect...

CH with Microbore bypass loops and proper bypass valve

Hi - and thanks in advance for reading - just joined... I have been looking into why my heating takes ages to warm up - had the system power flushed and lots of things checked... Today, I found this: This is one of 4 manifold pairs - and it also feeds the worst of the radiators for not...

Automatic bypass valve versus open radiator

Hi I have an Evohome which maintains the set temperature and so when it powers the boiler most of the radiator valves are closed with one or two slightly open, basically just "topping up" rather than heating fully. This means that the automatic bypass valve (ABV) has to open as well. Now...

Automatic Bypass Valve After Mid-Position Valve

I've just replaced a couple of radiators in my Y plan system which now means that every radiator has a TRV. I don't have a good candidate (such as a towel radiator) to leave with two lockshields so I need to install an automatic bypass on the heating loop. My boiler/pump/mid-position valve...

Hi I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have a POTTERTON PROMAX COMBI 28 HE PLUS A boiler which the manual states that the boiler utilises the primary side of the DHW plate heat exchanger as an automatic integral bypass. I'm about to fit a Honeywell system which will place a TRV on all the...

    Auto bypass valve problems.

I've read the baxi duotec and the 600 boilers already have a Integral bypass but I've seen overheat problems with the 600 boiler when the lad has turned but one radiator off with 8mm pipework and I've also seen a pump fail after 2 years on a baxi duotec.. I assume a bypass should solve these...
