benchmark
In computing, a benchmark is the act of running a computer program, a set of programs, or other operations, in order to assess the relative performance of an object, normally by running a number of standard tests and trials against it.
The term benchmark is also commonly utilized for the purposes of elaborately designed benchmarking programs themselves.
Benchmarking is usually associated with assessing performance characteristics of computer hardware, for example, the floating point operation performance of a CPU, but there are circumstances when the technique is also applicable to software. Software benchmarks are, for example, run against compilers or database management systems (DBMS).
Benchmarks provide a method of comparing the performance of various subsystems across different chip/system architectures.
Last year my boiler broke down prior to which a few radiators were stone cold.
Paid large company who used their contracted installer to fit the boiler after which the radiators still haven’t worked.
On booking the annual service I noticed that the system wasn’t flushed and the hard water...

When you do the benchmark and it asks for the cold water inlet temp- Please settle this for me WHY? and does anyone do it? I mean it's incoming mains temp and that varies surely?🤨
I'm looking for clarification if possible. I was asked to service a vokera combi, turned up and clocked that it seemed brand new, socket was actually covered by the casing, 3md drop in 2 mins , flue to close to plastic soffits, 15mm gas supply pipework, no chain on cylinders, no secure base for...
Just a quick one;
When filling out the benchmark when installing a boiler, when you use the manufacturers app does that mean you don’t have to fill the one in on the actual paper manual?
Also, when installing a gas hob I know you don’t have to fill in a benchmark but is it always best to...

How many of you come across benchmarks that are not filled out? I have assumed it's an uncommisioned appliance if this is the case but more often than not I find out its been installed by a gsr company and has been signed off and has a notification.
So does a non completed benchmark make it...
Hi, I have worked as a heating engineer for 9 years for a housing association where we have to fill out 4 forms every time we install a boiler. The reason for this post Is I want to know what I need to buy and what I need to fill out to operate correctly as i have just got my own gas safe...
I didn't know you could do this, will save loads of time in the future :24:
At least most I see seem to transfer the figures over into the correct boxes! But what do you expect when it comes in at this for a backboiler to combi conversion, with vertical flue.
I recently had a brand new boiler fitted by a GSR'd engineer. I am a land lord and I was not there when the boiler was installed. I am having a lot hassle trying to get my gas safe certificate for my records as its the law to have one.

Doing subby installs the now, gaffer asks us to do him a favour and go to a flat that had been fitted out, but the gas meter hadn't went in before the install. It was supposed to be fitted on the same day. So we were to connect onto the meter and commission the boiler. Connect the gas, get fired...

Hi there all,
Just wondering where the 'benchmark number' comes from when filling in the paperwork after installing a boiler? Is it something that is sent through with the Gas Safe notification or do I need to get it from somewhere else.
Thanking in advance for any help
Matt
