Hello All,

A couple of years back I attended one of the phex exhibitions in Ally pally north London. There I came across a stand that were promoting flexible boiler pipe connections, flow, return, hot, cold, and gas.
For the life of me I can not remember the product name of manufacturer.
Has any one else come across this product?

Cheers
VP

Not sure manufacturers would let you use them as they do not like people connecting plastic to the boiler

Would look awfull would never use them.

It would also promote DIY boiler changes not a good idea

I know the pipes you are talking about.
Stainless steel with M & F connectors.
They can extend form 200mm to 600 mm.
I had a brochure on them once but threw it because it was more expensive than using copper press fit fittings.
They were being sold for quick and easy boiler changovers and the concertina effect of the tube you could bend it anyway to make it fit.

You could then insulate it and no one would know it wasn't copper.

I didn't like the product and canned them because of the price

They been around for years. Use to see those used on baths when I was a wee apprentice

Please don't say that. Us americans do not all use the flexible whips on our water heaters, and certainly not on boilers. They are marketed at the diy folks. Yes some cheap jerks looking to make a quick buck use them but the rest of us real plumbers are above that.

For sink and toilet supplies we will use flexible lines, but those are smaller in diameter and thus stronger. They also don't see the same temperatures or flow rates.
