I thought that's what they were called. Not sure of the make, but this is the taptap 01.jpg

As you are referring to it as a "faucet" you must be in the USA so probably we can't help you here, however I have seen this type of cartridge before over here so you are probably best to visit some local plumbers merchants. Best if you know where it was originally purchased from.

No Whipes, I'm from West Yorkshire. Wasn't sure what they were called. Could you correct me on the correct name for them ..

Its a monoblock mixer tap and I would have a guess at it being a cheap imported one by the look of it

lol!! I mean the cartridge 'quality' no it wasn't cheap, I just made it look cheap ..

Lol yes its a cartridge / insert / valve ,depends who your talking to. It may not have been cheap to buy but it looks like a far eastearn cheapo to me

You can get an identical abd brand new tap for £40 from t oolstation.com. Keep that in mind if your local merchant finds you some random cartridge for the best part of that price.

Don't waste your time trying to find the right cartridge, just change the tap, will save you ages in time and effort

As secret squirrel has said, just treat yourself to a new tap. There's that many on the market you could spend time and effort and come up with nothing. I don't mess about with them any more, if it's not just a tap washer to fix it's a new tap.

Hope you get sorted.

I have a plumber coming tomorrow to change a cartridge on a badly dripping tap on my bathroom mixer unit. There is no separate isolating valve for this tap so I'll have to close the stopcock. I tried closing it today but it won't go absolutely 100% closed and there is still a very slight flow...

Our kitchen mixer tap has started dripping. Like so much of the plumbing in our almost new build bungalow, it is lacking! The plumber didn't install any isolating cocks in the H&C feed to the tap so how can I identify which of the valves is passing? Shut the whole H&C water system down?

I have attached an image of the brass body within a tap. Having replaced a cartridge which has cured a leaking tap, I can see that there is a small leak from the brass body which can be unscrewed. Is there a seal behind the body? Thanks.

Recently had a Viessmann Vitodens combi boiler installed, quite often when the adjacent cold mixer tap is opened the boiler starts for a few seconds! Can anyone tell me what is causing this? And how to cure?

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
