hattersley valve.pngI am working on a flat with a communal heating system. i have found the flow and return, one with a gate valve and the other with this valve (below). I know it can be turned of because some time back i saw a service engineer do it. But its in a confined compartment and with it being on the 10th floor i am a little nervous.

Does anyone know how to do it? Many thanks

BS5451 is for valves, globe and gate but not sure if it covers balancing
 
Balancing valve, should just screw in, keep count of turns to close and re-open to same position.
 
You can probably download the MIs and specs from the Hattersley website
