Hello,
I wonder if someone can give me advice regarding my boiler. It's a British Gas CDI Series and the pressure is at less than 0.5 but i think it needs to be between 1 -2. There is a little read marker that point to the halfway point between 1 and 2 on the little clock anyway. How do I 'refill' the boiler? I looked underneath, but all I see are lots of pipes! Help!

Here is a picture of the boiler attached. boiler.jpg

can you take some photos of underneath , it will help us point you in the right way

You'll need to find the "filling loop" which is usually a silver coloured flexi pipe - it's that pic that we're asking for!

you are quite right it should be around 1.5 on the cold water inlet pipe there till be another pipe coming off going to the central heating will a form of isolating this , or a filling loop open these up to increase the presure to 1.5

if you cant see it take some more pictures for us of underneath

Hello there,
when you say that, would that be a plastic pipe? There are only copper pipes. Am I being an idiot?
Lx

No, you're not being an idiot as it takes us plumbers a while to find this filling loop sometimes!

By way of explanation (and hopefully help you find this loop) the boiler needs more water in the system. So, for example, if it's near the kitchen sink it's a fair bet that the pipe will be between the sink and the boiler. If you look in the cupboards around the boiler you should find it. Alternatively it might be hidden behind a removable wooden panel.

ive had a look at some of the pictures that were kindly posted but I dont see a looping pipe like what you guys are talking about.

More pics please!!!

These are the pipes inside the boiler but the filling loop is separate and might be up to 10 feet away, hence why we're asking for pics of the pipework leading to and from the boiler. These pipes might well be in a cupboard below or somewhere else.

it will be a pipe that links 2 together one from the cold water supply to the radiator pipes

It's a special white plastik key folks! --- Leeloo it fits in the hole to the left of the grey knob thingy...!! :)

If memory serves me right, then the boiler is a rebadged Worcester which as stated requires the white plastic key to be inserted in the black hole to the left of the star shaped handwheel in pic 1. Hopefully somebody who is more computer savvy will be able to post a pic / link showing you the key you need to find.

Check on the top of the boiler or in ya draws, manufaturers folder ... that sort of thing!
