Valve on hot side of bath taps (which could only be replaced as a whole by removing bath) doesn't open and close properly. Removed and played with - something mechanical not working properly anymore. The valve looks pretty standard. This sort:

Would standard bath tap revivers almost certainly fit and sort the problemo?

You can buy a Universal conversion kit, that fits almost any taps. just have to make them up. i use them in situations like your in.
 
i get the ones from wickes and for £12 had no problems, tried other places before but not as universal imo.
 
bristan do good kits with extra washers and reducers that will fit most taps, pts stock them, dont use the lever type tough there rubbish
 
most come with different washers and nuts to be a one size fits all and do indeed fit most but not all

if they dont fit then keep them for next time and give the custard the bad news
 
id say i had about a 50 per cent succes rate with revivers the bodies your picture shows are pretty modern and you should be able to get a replacement from a decent plumbers merchant that way you keeps the heads matching
i would recomend you take one out and take it with you to match up
most of the time the existing ones just need stripping down and cleaning and greasing take the circlip of the shaft and push the spindle down into the body unscrew the two parts and clean the slides( six sided pieces) lightly with a file or wire wool, grease with silicon grease and reassemble

you can replace those tap bodies like for like, but take them with you to a decent plumbers merchant, as there are a few sets which look very simlar, also those ones can sometimes be repaired on site.
