How much do salaried, fully qualified plumbers earn each year in the UK? Also, do you need additional training to work as a plumber in Australia and/or the USA?

You wont get a answer to that question its so varied across the country, and yes you will need additional training to work in Australia or the US they do not recognise the qualifications you gain here as good enough and need to learn their ways of doing things. Kop

If you work for Pimlico £100,000 + a year apparently, but alas that's London where £100,000 buys you a bag of chips and a taxi home. :)
Out of that you have to pay congestion charge, fuel for van and a commission back to Charlie

Charlie Mullins? Sounds Cockney to me..

Looking at that job list Chuck posted makes interesting reading although not accurate, I mean who here goes on roofs to mess with flashing?

Yeah, that one is a blast from the past. Lead-work is the original plumber's skill, of course, but these days you'd be hard-pressed to find a plumber that can do it in the yellow pages. The last one I knew retired about a decade ago. Presumably there are people who still work on historic buildings who have the skills, but I don't come across them.

I work for a lot of teachers and I don't know how I feel, the primary school teachers come home at 3:30pm and head straight for the sofa and TV while I graft upstairs till 6pm then off to another job, secondary school teachers tend to do a lot more work.

Most good experienced plumbers who are self employed earn...enough to have
A decent house, pay off a mortgage in 20 years, wife who also works, two newish vehicles - new decent car and work van, 3 kids , holidays and takeaways roast dinners on Sunday and work 5.5 days 48 weeks a year
And damaged knees at 58

Definitely school teaching is one of the most moaned about professions from those that work in it.
Yet, they work few hours, get a fairly large salary, good work pension and very long holidays.
I think their problem is almost all of them have no experience of other work because they have went from university to teaching.
I actually like working for teachers because they are not short of money.
