I can answer this now; took about 30 seconds. Clip off, remove stop plate and replace at 90 degrees, replace clip. Both taps now turn on in the same direction
These bath fillers ((Part number A4021AA) come as a pair with one turning on clockwise and the other turning on anti-clockwise. I can see why you would want this with the taps mounted on the bath as the handles could be pointing sideways for off and towards the bath for on.
I have mounted mine...
Unfortunately the thread on the female irons is too long for the valve so the washer will not seat. It looks like I either use flexis or find some new valves to feed the overflow filler that will take a copper connection.
So workable options are the 3/4 female iron, cutting the raised bit off or using a flexi for which the tap appears to be designed for.
I know flexi is easy and easy is seldom best but what are the downsides of cutting the raised bit off.
Strange how my in-laws new build house is all...
Decided to plumb copper to my bath valves rather than flexible hoses as this is a job I only want to do once. I tried 3 local shops for some 15mm x 3/4" solder ring tap connectors and eventually found some.
Unfortunately the hole in the bottom of the bath valve has a smaller diameter (ID...
Thanks, is there any benefit in stepping from the 1/2 inch steel to 22mm copper or do I save the pennies and run through to the bath in 15mm.The local Plumbase, screwfix and wickes do the couplings. How will I know if they are DZR and not brass.
My hot (gravity) and cold (mains) come into the bathroom via galvanised steel (iron?) pipes.
My first question is what size are these steel pipes? The pipe OD is about 21.5mm and the steel Tee body diameter is 26.4mm. I need to know this in case I need to buy some more brass iron couplings...
thanks folks for your help. Polypipe have confirmed that it is PVC I should use and have said that I can order it in Covers. That said I am only worried about the pipe exiting the wall and the first foot or so degrading the rest would be easy to replace, if it ever needs it. I can split a...
Thanks Ray, I have worried about several of those 19 million but probably have more to go. I like to do things right first time and suppose my concern is that the shower waste will be under the floor and a bugger to fix if the exposed external bend goes brittle.
The local buildbase does Hunter...
Having bought a house last year I now find myself off the electricians forum and on the plumbers forum as I move onto the bathroom!I need to run some waste pipes externally along a south facing wall. I will be using 50mm solvent weld and am hoping to achieve UV resistance without needing to...
