Combi boiler flow temperature with underfloor heating

Worchester replied and said it's fine to run it at 50C, and also it won't affect the hot water. I'm waiting for the TLV's and i'll do some tests both ways.

Combi boiler flow temperature with underfloor heating

Erm I see you guys seem to have got into a debate over this! So if I only want 40-50C for the floor what do you recommend I run the boiler flow at if not 70C I understand you both have different views but I’d like to hear the lower temperature recommendation too. Why would I run it at 60 C If...

Combi boiler flow temperature with underfloor heating

Thanks for you replies. Just for some added info we have very hard water here so I have a hefty water softener and a hefty filter after it to remove chlorine and salt. Those feed the entire house. Yes I know softened water shouldn’t go into a boiler usually but the second filter takes care...

Combi boiler flow temperature with underfloor heating

I just read that the lower the return temperature the more efficiently the boiler runs. This seems ad odds with other advice - although that seems to be tartgeted at radiators which they estimate will drop 20C (from 70 to 50) with TRV's fitted. Very confused now. I also sent an email to...

Combi boiler flow temperature with underfloor heating

Ok so I need to replace that TRV and set the flow back up. Any recommendation on a flow temperature?

Combi boiler flow temperature with underfloor heating

hello, I have a Worcester greenstart 440 Cdi combi boiler feeding a wet underfloor to my whole house. There’s one manifold upstairs and onedownstairs. The underfloor manifolds have a trv to make sure the flow temperature remains at 40-50 (or even lessbecause I have a laminate floor). I have...

Water meter and combi boiler back pressure

Not quite. With the inlet to the boiler shut - which isolates the boiler from the equation and the pressure reducing valve totally open the pressure is about 3.3 bar. So my mains pressure without anything open is 3.3 bar. To make things simple: - Pressure reducing valve totally open. - Mains...

Water meter and combi boiler back pressure

Ok so it's two separate issues which my confusing post mixes together (sorry). Here is the timeline of events (and the problems): Problem 1 - boiler dumping water. Mains fed the boiler inlet directly, no expansion vessel, and no pressure control valve. The pressure on the boiler itself would...

Water meter and combi boiler back pressure

Originally before I did anything, the Pressure release valve was being triggered and dumping water out. "how are you getting 6 bar? " is the million dollar question! I have 3.3 bar water pressure, reduced to 1 bar by the pressure reducing valve. When the all taps are off and the inlet to the...

Water meter and combi boiler back pressure

Pictures of what? Are you worried it's plumbed back to front or something? The pressure reducing valve is from screwfix part 7978J (it won't let me post more than urls). It's fitted correctly with the flow in the right direction. The vessel is from screwfix part 71018

Water meter and combi boiler back pressure

I forgot to mention with the boiler off and the system cold the exact same thing happens. I can't understand how there could be a pressure build up of 6 bar when nothing in the system is hot or pressurised to that level. Any ideas?

Water meter and combi boiler back pressure

Hello, I have a Worchester 440cdi combi boiler which regularly dumps water out due to over pressure. - There is 3.3 bar pressure at the property. - There was no pressure reducing valve fitted to the inlet of the boiler. - There was no external expansion vessel on the inlet of the boiler. I...
