That's right, that's the way the pump is supplied. In view of nick83's reply, it must have been rotated 180°.
Are you male or female? Don't want to be accused of sexism, but most women would struggle with that, even if they're "buff".
Unless I'm much mistaken, it makes no difference if the head is rotated, it still pumps in the direction of the arrow on the casing.
