My thoughts on this are that the expansion vessel probably isn't the culprit here. If the expansion vessel was too small you'd expect to see a very significant pressure spike as the system warms up. Unless I've missed it, you don't say you are getting a pressure increase as the system is...
A few years back when I was running my business I looked at one of these tools. I decided not to buy one as my work was mainly domestic at the time and I couldn't justify the outlay. Unless the domestic market has changed significantly in the last 3 years you can't pass extra costs on easily...
22mm pipework has a heat capacity of 40.2KW so the 28mm pipework is unnecessary in my humble opinion.
This is one of three things: -
1.) Blocked/incorrectly sized pipework.
2.) Pump not powerful enough (unlikely as the pumps in boilers are usually sized to be generous enough that you don't...
Yes Imax boilers. The district heating network provides hot water on demand for the flats too via the plate heat exchangers in the houses (8 student bedrooms per house).
Efficiency is currently 50% through the Summer rising to 70% in Winter, I'd be better getting the engineers to rip out the...
Hi all,
my employer took on a new build property which was built for them last year. There are 4x 480KW Ideal condensing boilers installed to serve a district heating network serving approx. 560 student apartments.
Due to a lack of decent control, these boilers are achieving a seasonal...
Cheers Shaun. Am I missing something? I took a look and their modulation ratios appear to be 6.5:1 and 5:1 respectively. With 9:1 and above we believe we can save a boiler in our existing 4 boiler buildings when we come to renew.
Hi all, hope everyone is keeping well.
I was wondering if anyone can help me work out the best boiler to cover this: -
1.) Modulation ratio of 9:1 or higher.
2.) BMS controlled modulation via 0-10v signal.
3.) BMS feedback re boiler modulation via 0-10v signal.
4.) A reliable boiler too...
This AHU uses a thermal wheel across supply and extract ducts. Problem is, as the pre-heat control valve is passing so much, the thermal wheel isn’t coming on but the chiller system is then chilling the hot air after the pre-heat. Such a waste of energy.
The current setup works to a degree...
Yup that's my thought as well. As we need to replace both valves which means draining down that leg it's a no brainer to me to fit a 3 port mixing valve on each one.
Hi all,
I've got 2x AHUs where I work with pre-heat coils after the filter on the supply ducting. These are heated using the boiler CT circuit. On both of these AHUs the method of control of heat to the coil is a 3 port mixing/diverting valve with the central port blanked off. There doesn't...
Hi Armyash. Read this one with interest. I no longer run my business and am back in full time employment so can chat about this quite candidly now.
When running my business I once had to solder a gas pipe in a really awkward space, too tight to even get a mirror round to inspect the joint...
