Hello
I'm looking at the different pipes for UFH, the prices vary a lot and I'm not sure about the differences between the products.
I'm doing two zones, one 127m the other 70m, both will be under screed.
JG barrier pipe will cost £400 but Pert-Evoh-Pert is only £170. Both say they are 15mm...
I did the opposite, i was a gas engineer for ten years when i got it in my head that i wanted off the tools. So I did a masters in building surveying, then a year in industry to get my accreditation.
The result, I'm a chartered building surveyor, but lots of regrets and I miss being a gas...
Its been a decade since I did my energy efficiency course, I wanted to refresh myself on a few things, could anyone recommend a good text book
thanks in advance
in the end i put it down as an AR, because it has no sleeve i was able to. However as wrong as it seems if it was sleeved i couldnt think of any reason to AR it.
it was in a hospital/old peoples home, so IDing it was to be avoided for as long as possible, but there was also no high ventilation...
the above pic is ducting and at the bottom a fan providing the mechanical ventilation to a plant room, going through the ducting is a gas pipe.
even with the obstruction its providing ample air. the gas pipe is not sleeved and i cannot be certain if its a straight piece of pipe with no joints...
someone tell me the formula for calculating mechanical ventilation airflow, i dont like relying on an app and theyve removed the formula for calculating mechanical ventilation airflow from our books and exams. very frustraiting
i seem to remember it was some thing like; wind speed averaged over...
did you run the heating, if the heating is not working as well you should be taking a close look at the pump, if heating is fine i'd be looking at the diverter valve.
once youre stasisfied with the flue of course
theres smarter guys on here than me but the the 2 faults thing was for open flue appliances and is no longer in effect, but as i recall it was 2 ncs = an AR
had to attend last week, found it a complete waste of time, really easy questions and the harder ones such as 'an openflued appliance in a bathroo0m' they told you before the exam thats its been upgraded from AR to ID. its open book, but personally i didnt need my book and judging by the amount...
on a potterton ec three 215 e, what is comfort set point
really fiddly control on that boiler, I couldnt figure how to get it on low flame or high flame and in trying, ruined the settings for comfort set point, i'm guessing its kind of like a frost stat and the boiler fires when ever the temp...
