Can anyone be so kind as to help me out.

I've read the instructions for the above thermostat: https://www.directheatingsupplies.co.uk/pdfs/Basic Wireless Thermostat Guide.pdf

and if I'm reading it correctly, it doesn't provide the option of being able to set the gas to come on at a certain time for a certain period, in this case, at 3.00am until 3.18am.

But am I missing something? As I understood it, the boiler my landlord had installed was top of the line, a Logic + Combi 24, so it seems odd I couldn't request something as simple as for the boiler to come on for twenty minutes in the morning. Thanks.

The instructions are for a programmable room thermostat .......... so if the boiler isn't programmed to be "on" during the night, what ever you set the room stat to do, it will be ignored.

what is the boiler controlled set to do?

Not really sure what you mean, pal. Normally I manually switch the boiler on and off?

For the programmable room stat to work properly you need to leave the boiler “on” all the time ....... then the switching on and off is effectively controlled by the signals from the room stat ..

Gotcha. Still not sure if it is actually possible to set the stat to turn the radiator on at a set time though?

Once you set the Times and temperatures on the room stat, the heating will come on if the temperature is below your set level ...

But I don't really have a set level. I just want it to come on for twenty minutes during the night?

Is this a wind up ?

Heating will ONLY come on if a room stat detects the heat level in the room is lower than its programmed to be?

How difficult is this?

It appears to be quite difficult. All I want is for the boiler to come on for twenty minutes at a set time. I understand that it will come on if the heat level is lower than programmed, but, sorry, how does that help me? So I set it to be at a temperature that I know the room will be lower than, then what? It comes on for two minutes until it reaches that temperature? Ten minutes? Five hours?

Why on earth would you want to run a boiler for 20 minutes in the night .......... irrespective of the temperature?

Thats dumb

Because in the winter it's been known to get cold during the night on occasion?

If you don't know the answer to the question, just say so.

Edit: Finally found the answer. Ended up on a boiler vender that had a FAQ. Pity the fools that wrote the instructions didn't think of that.

Why did you not just say it's not a simple on and off situation, and that to get it to go off I need to set it to a low temperature?
