Fitted on the mains at front of property but customer still getting bad lime scale on all taps and shower head?

Aquabion then

corbs do you rate those aquabion filters? We got mega hard water round here ( Oxfordshire ) and I’ve been tempted to fit one in my house before I recommend them to customers. They worth the money ?

dont have a clue but ive seen some good stuff and reviews on them

my first choice would always be a salt water softener

aquabion - always willing to be proved wrong but I have seen soooooo many of these water conditions come & go, each claiming to be the answer to temporary hardness in water supplies. Most cost £100's some £1000's, none I have seen have worked to control the calcium deposits IMHO.
It is a basic exchange softener every time of me, there ain't no magic solution (except perhaps food grade phosphates:)).

Water softener every time, you are wasting your time and customer's money if you suggest anything else. You should advise that if customer buys cheap, they buy twice

Hi you could fit a combimate (customiser) for hole house use if you can find a suitable point for it or a Mornach scale out sp15 or sp22 these are pre charged resin beds that need servicing every 3 years

But aren't these just the resin tanks found in a basic exchange but without the brine cleaning ?

They are a pre charged resin bed? according to their website (Monarch scale out) they only need the resin bed changing every 3 years, and no salt required so cheaper than water softener and totally potable drinking water.

A Monarch scale out is an option, it will give synthetic soft water feel but you will still get scale in shower head etc as it will remove scale that is already inside the pipework. I work for Plumbase and have sold probably 50 plus units, the feedback has been good. You have to change the post filter annually at a cost of £12.

They have recently launched a new product similar to a combimate that uses food grade phosphates. Check their website.
IMHO a water softener is the best choice, I have had one for the last 12 years.

I now always use Hydrflo HS38 from BES. Used every kind of electronic and magnetic in the past and never worked, but so far all customers I have fitted Hydroflow have been pleased, over the last 10 years.
Not cheap.
Not as good as a softener but a great improvement.

Just make sure you follow instructions about checking for bonding connections.
