Hi guys, sparks here in peace!

Had the plumbers round earlier to drop some gear off before they start fitting my underfloor heating this week and had a quick nose at the kit as I like to see what goes into something I've not seen before.

I'm sure it will be a simple answer from someone on here but it's bugging me and I can't wait till the plumbers are back later this week to ask them.

Supplied are a blue and red 1 inch 'valve'. However the valve doesn't turn and there appears to be no 'mechanism' inside. It's totally smooth. What is the point of a big chunk of metal that looks like a valve but apparently isn't?! Or am I missing something here.

Cheers

Its a ball valve bud imagine a ball with a hole in turn the lever it will close maybe a bit stiff post a picture please . kop

Embarrassingly... more force needed! In my defence it was pretty stuck though!

I'm used to being restrained with the highly technical nature of sparks work!

Maybe I should retrain. Brute strength is fun.

When a plumber encounters a stuck lever they try:

1. Large adjustable spanner

2. #1 plus a few whacks with a hammer.

3. #2 plus a length of scaffolding pole to gain mechanical advantage

4. #3 plus blow torch

5. A saw.

When a sparks encounters a stuck lever they call their mate the plumber... :)
