Commercial tools?

Hi guys.

I normally only work on domestic stuff so all my tools are obviously geared to that.
My question is what sort of tools do you guys use for working with 54mm compression fittings? And copper threads?

Don't normally use compression on 54 mm but Stilsons 24-36" anything bigger compression wise is different and has bolts instead of one nut (like a flange)

but it press or soldered normally

But most is like domestic but bigger

You can hire threading machines from bss etc have a look on the rems site

Sorry mate.

What I meant was. On a domestic valve you'd just use your adjustable and grips. Where's as the ISO valves I'll be using on site are used with a male copper thread both sides.

. As there 54mm would you still use stilsons on the copper? Just worried they may round them off a bit.

on heating ok on domestic water no just use loc 55

hot and cold? if so non as boss white isnt allowed on hot and cold pipework due to not wras approved and water board are taking a big stance on it this year

boss green is ok for hot and cold (wras approved)

Once it's started it won't cross.
You'll struggle to cross thread 2" by hand

If in doubt about cross threading, unwind the connection until you hear a click then start to tighten again. Damaged to fittings can occur if the male bottoms out and you continue to over tighten.

Yes mate. There's a couple on site. Theirs boss green and jet blue.

I have a bad habit of calling most joint compounds boss white for some reason.

Fittings mate. The stilsons seem to chew the fittings.
