So we've bought a dishwasher but it requires to be on the cold tap. We've had to buy a Y connector as the washer is also on the cold tap, the washer connection is fine but the dishwasher is a nightmare. Obviously the PTFE tape has probably not been used for its intended purpose but if you can see the pictures the one with the white circle is where it's coming out, it's just spraying so hard obviously due to the pressure but it shouldn't be spraying out like it is. Any ideas why it could be doing this?

My suggestion is that if it is coming from the circled bit, the the hose may be damaged.

What is going on with the old brass part & the sure stop valve?

I’m on about the bit that I have Circled with the black electrical tape.
Oh they're just keeping the waste pipes popping off.. our landlord likes electrical tape, we just added the dishwasher pipe then added more, it works haha.. I'm feeling we probably need to hire an actual plumber for the dishwasher. Was just hoping it was a quick fix
