Hi,

I have been given the following price for:

New expansion vessel, pipes and seals in Vaillant ecoTec plus 618
Replace combi valve for unvented cylinder

Parts = £600 + vat.

I have been told it's the combi valve that is the expensive part, but from a quick search online this doesn't seem right. (See picture for part)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Dick turpin the unvented cylinder engineer is still at large , very expensive , get somebody else mate .

Where are you based ?

Whoa there... Read the original list again and see it contains boiler parts too. This is NOT £600 for a control block.

Just ask how you would feel reading the responses here based on having NO real information?

Pardon me, but its about time we ALL got off our high horses and looked at things from a much more OBJECTIVE standpoint.

Quite agree. I have to say I didn’t think the price was bonkers

Very true and point taken. OP does state re the multi valve being the most expensive bit, the valve pictured isnt an expensive one we can all agree on that, so should view quote with some caution. IMHO.....

Think you are asking a lot if you expect people to read all of a post before responding Dave :D IMHO all too often it has become a race to see who can post anything first.:(

Oddy enough Kev, I felt myself drawn into that same black hole. I'm trying to stay out of it now ;)
