Hi

need a bit of help
I have a old central heating system in my house with a back boiler.
on my switch/timer on the wall i can select

hot water only
or
hot water plus central heating

I cannot select the temp here ether that's done under the fireplace. i turn dial from 1 to 4 . then my burner comes on for 5min and off for 5 min eg so on and so on.

could i fit a hive receiver in place of my current wall switch am i right in thinking i should be buying the dual receiver for hot water plus central heating,
however i can not select only central heating on my current wall switch its ether hot water only or hot water and central heating only so would this dual receiver work on my setup ?

thanks.

Yes you can fit a hive. Yes it needs to be twin channel. Once the Hive has been fitted it needs to be switched in to Gravity mode. Hope this helps.

Would you know how to wire my type of system up to the hive dual receiver ?

My system is a baxi Bermuda with a back boiler and hot water tank central heating gravity fed two tanks in the loft.
Ive removed the old timer switch i have three 3 core wires and a (single earth coming from the fireplace)

First 3 core wire is the pump located at the side of fireplace .

Second 3 core wire is 240v a small plug. goes in to Earth Neutral Live on hive receiver .

Third 3 core wire goes to my fireplace not sure where yet ive still to look :)

The old wiring is a bit of a mess lol i am going to replace all three wires with new stuff first.

thanks

Don’t you just love it when every wire in the timer or 10 way are all earth cables :eek:(blooming sparks). I’m not willing to comment on the wiring without being there (sorry) but if I remember correctly you have to change the colour of the light on the receiver to blue.
