Is there an obvious cause for a dripping flue on a newly installed condensing system boiler? not constantly but enough to form a damp patch on the patio below.

It is a problem for manufacturers, from what I have seen most do it to a certain extent .
As ^^^above it should fall back to the boiler , can you see a slight “fall” backwards.
Some flues however will appear level , the “fall “ is built in to the flue .
Whos the manufacturer?
 
No that clued up on veissmann to be honest. But the flue pipe outside should look at least level. (The fall may be on the inner flue pipe) sometimes you can get an odd drip from the terminal but depends on a few different factors.
 
It does happen in colder months
You can’t always angle the flue back or rain water can get in.
Some manufacturers make a deflector for the end that can help
