Got a vaillant ecotec boiler and it makes an awful noise sometimes which stops when the hot water tap is turned on, boiler is fully serviced and clean, couldn’t get it to replicate for the last service so the engineer couldn’t find anything wrong!
No really researched this yet but can anyone tell me if there is a heat only boiler on the market that does a side exit flue ? We get quite alot of old boilers that we have relocate because the new top or rear flue type just wont be possible. Normally if replacing a boiler in a kitchen cupboard...
How does a boiler sense the condensate pipe is blocked?. Boiler stopped working. I was told the condensate syphon was blocked and had to be cleared. I wondered how the boiler controls knew this?
I have a rather large wet UFH system. Water is flowing around the system, but I don't get any (or minimal) hot water injecting from the primary boiler flow into the ufh system. this means the mix temp never gets above 20 degrees.

Hi - this is driving me nuts and I can’t figure it out so any thoughts welcome.
The hive receiver at the boiler is correctly receiving a signal from the thermostat to turn the heating on - but then… nothing! This definitely isn’t a hive communication issue given (a) the hot water via hives...
Doing some decorating I discovered that some of the central heating pipe work is grey plastic. System installed 20 years ago by previous owners. My question is was that normal practice back then and is it likely to cause any problems in future? All exposed pipe work to rads is copper.

The burner keeps locking out on my boiler with increasing frequency to the point it can be every few minutes.
