Ball valve/Float valve
Went to a job and the overflow on their combined cylinder is leaking.
The ball valve is passing ever though its reached its water level its been set at.
Went into the merchants and asked for a 'portsmouth type 2 ball valve' and he didnt know what i was talking about.
Theres a few different types of ball valves to get and previous companies to me to get these which ive fitted before.
Have they discontinued or am i get mixed up with something else lol
The merchant said heres the type 2 ball valve so i presumed it was that (same type and looked same as the worn one) so ive grabbed that :P

Re: Ball valve/Float valve
You get blank looks at Plumb Center when you ask for anything!
You don't hear the name Pourtsmouth valve anywhere much outside of the JTL books, just ask for a part 2 ballvalve next time and hand over your £15. How much!

I know, just having a pop and Plumb Center's prices.
I remember buying 3m of 50mm solvent weld pipe once form there, can't remember the exact price but even the counter rat said "As daft as it sounds thats...."
What!
"And as daft as it sounds you won't see me again in here for a while"

Yeah i can totally believe that! I said to him how much for a length of 1x 3m 1 1/4" chrome looking pipe and he looked through the book and said £200.
I started laughing and said no way! No1's going to buy that! Like wth do they get some of their prices from?!!

Re: Ball valve/Float valve
There are some good deals to be had don't get me wrong but some of the prices are just crazy, I also receive bills from Wolsey every now and then even if I haven't been in for a year. Some guy down south has a very similar account number to mine and I sometimes receive his bills asking for payment.
I pay them of course without question, I mean why should this other guy pay for his parts when he can get some other mug to do it. pfft.
