Possibly! The cover was all twisted and bent too, a nightmare to get back on.

This is for my own home so I don't mind looking online, I have heard very good things about the quality and value of betterbathrooms.com but where else should I look? We really are on a budjet for what we want as we've been doing the whole flat up at once from when we bought it. We are still renting a flat until it is ready to move into. We are possibly after a freestanding bath or corner jacuzzi bath with perhaps a shower cubicle as well and combined w.c and basin vanity unit so I know it won't be cheap. We are basically looking at taking a chance on cheaper ranges as it is only a 1 bedroom flat. Really interested in hearing where you guys would get your stuff from for your own home, I will check my local plumbers merchants too of course.

Sorted it, inlet pressure was fine but the bloody burner pressure was only 9mb, should've been 14. I put a new restrictor in as it needed one anyway. Spot on now, was 54 degrees at the tap, they like it very hot. Bit embarrassing for me, I check burner pressure each service but for some reason it had been tweaked down, they have had a lot of people mess about with it in the past. can't believe I didn't check this first, at least we got there in the end. Customer happy now and so am I.

haha I know, I will do just that before I fit any other parts. Cheers. Customer keeps telling me his mate at work thinks its the diverter valve and that I said I would powerflush it included in the price of £275 plus vat. Never mentioned such a thing but I've put some cleanser in anyway to keep him happy. You know what it's like when a customer has been speaking to their family or work mates and they trust them more than you. Mods any chance we can move this to the private gsr forum please? Should've put it in there.

Cheers, that's what I was going to do, open the tap until it is just 8 litres per minute and check the gas but I feel like I know this is going to work but the customer isn't having it when I explain to him. The only thing wrong I can see is that the water is running too fast. I wonder if this problem has always been there. The customer just doesn't trust me, questions everything I say. To top it off he was watching my apprentice tighten the nuts in the boiler and quoted (I don't tighten them that tight when I do plumbing) Had to bite my tongue through the whole job, almost passed him the spanner. I capped their ancient gas fires the other week due black radiants and stains on the walls, they had never been serviced. At the end they were going on about how great their gas fire was and better than anything you can get today. I think that is what their gripe is over. I wish they would just say if they had a problem with me rather than picking at me all day. Hopefully I can repair the boiler if possible then they might be happy.

They are all single taps in the house, no mixers! I will check if there's a mixer shower (can't recall seeing one) but the hot pipe below the boiler isn't getting very hot either. Yea the stop tap has been turned on and off but the restrictor should still limit the flow through the hot water heat exchanger?

The domestic hot water leaving the boiler isn't hot enough, the heat just doesn't appear to be transferring through the colirifier yet I have just replaced this and it is no different. There is no overheating or obvious circulation problems. The heating works normal and the flow and return do not get warm at all when the hot water is on ruling out the diverter valve passing. Like I said the colirifier is roasting (not overheating) but the water just seems to be running through too fast. The customer insists it was fine until recently. Could the pump perhaps be not pumping through quick enough? The system is clean and the pump feels pretty strong, heating works fine too. The hot water gets up to temperature if I slow the tap down or turn the stop tap down, but the customer does not want to do this and if he doesn't then it is only reaching 46 degrees.

Yes this is what I have done but they want it back the way it was. Have people come across this before the restrictor passing too much water?

Was working on an old worcester 240 rsf today. Problem was hot water not heating up well, no signs of overheating. I replaced the hot water heat exchanger thinking it could be limed up but I was wrong. the white restrictor that fits into the connection looked ok but when I measured the flow rate at the tap it was 12 litres per minute. I spoke to Worcester and they say it should be 8 litres per minute for this boiler. I have ordered a new flow restrictor as it appears to be letting too much water through? Has anybody come across this before and found a new restrictor rectified the problem? There is no heat escaping down the flow and return and the hot water heat exchanger is getting much hotter than the water coming out of the taps at only 46 degrees max. It works fine if I turn the tap or the stop tap down but customer states that it used to be fine without doing that up until recently. So should this restrictor not allow more than 8 litres per minute through and if it is then am I correct in thinking it must be faulty? The incoming mains pressure is nothing phenomenal.
