Thanks for that, the point I was getting at was about limestone being used around the outside of the pod, as I have seen loads that just have chippings inside and nothing on the outside.

Hi Guy's Is anyone available for a really quick job?? My sister lives down there and my Dad is with her at the moment, the two of them are trying to replace two tap tails on a monobloc bathroom basin taps. From various phone calls it seems the copper needs extending by a couple of inches..... and the flexi tap tails need connecting to the basin ect. If anyone is available tomorrow or Sat I think she would be really grateful as they are trying to be have a go heroes and don't know what they are doing!?!?!?:banghead: She is in Romford near to Gallows corner and Brook St roundabout or J28 M25 area PLS contact me for more info Cheers Dan

The council would have difficulty throwing the gas safety regulations at you for this work as everyone else has said, it does not constitute gas work. If they wish to have control over who is doing the work then they should be asking that the work is carried out by a qualified person and if they are that concerned may be they should inspect the work on completion, if they have anyone qualified enough to know what they are looking at.

Yes Ricky agree with this. Misconception is you fill the soak-away pod with lime stone. You sink the pod in the hole and fill the outside of the pod with limestone not the inside. Therefore the pod fills with the condensate water and soaks through the pod into the limestone chippings which neutralise the acidic water.
