maybe look at it this way, do you value your apprentice and will he/she stay with you once qualified? if the answers yes then maybe give a good little rate for them or offer them a meal out and claim back if no and their lazy then as above

get them to check to flow and rtn temps and check the flow and rtn tems when the heatings off, could be your motorisied valved is passing in the heating from the hot water circuit

Nah Secret, just don't do any install work, only service and breakdown so no real need for much of my stuff. I know I may need it in the future but cheaper for me to hire stuff as and when I need it rather than have it in the garage doing nothing
