Buy all the tools you can get. Tools are good but only if they cost £4-500 a whack. They give you a buzz buying them. Then straight through everything with your new tools because they can. Direct is best and cheaper:lol:

We don't have warrant sales or bailiffs evicting people up in Scotland. That was outlawed 5 years ago. Everything is done through the courts. Cold service valve is on the jig below the boiler 2nd valve from the right. Good luck and hopefully your GSR engineer won't keep you waiting to long. I would also suggest you isolate the electrics for now from the boilers fused spur.

IP rating for that box is probably only 5 or 6, where it is now it should be at least 7 or higher for water ingress

You must have a double in line check valve between the isolation valve and the hose union tap, MDPE should be fully encased against UV light. All external pipe work up to 750mm under ground should be sufficiently insulated against freezing. Hose union tap must be fixed to a solid structure. Get it away from that electrical box.
