doesn't it make the world a better place when the football team you have supported from birth wins...!at least the 24hrs that follow..

Football? Pfft......if its not the world cup or euro I'm not interested! :59:

i think football is like religion. if you're not introduced to it very young you'll spend the rest of your life failing to understand the attraction.

So you've never been into Football then Watertight?

Italia '90
France'98

Ah the memories!

Roll on the thrashing we'll get in Euro 12!!

I'm a Scot, so it's impossible to be a serious football fan if you watch the National team as I do. If I took it serious, I'd be constantly on a downer as my daughter's nursery could play better.

I think the scots should play in kilts, that would be a laugh.

Actually, thinking about it maybe they shouldn't!

During my 20's I was very skinny and wore a kilt to a Wedding......

I looked like Ghandi in a skirt.

Its amazing how you bulk out after you hit 30, I have to do 100 sit ups a day just to keep me from being a fat ba 57 ard.

the way i eat i think i'll go fat when i hit about 30, skinny runt the now though

i'm not too mad about international football i prefer club, celtic for me won today but i missed it as i was working until 7pm today then an hour drive back home in this weather, nearlly got blown off the bridge !

Me too, I nearly got blown off the Clackmannanshire Bridge this afternoon and the rain was so heavy that my windy wipers were struggling to keep up. The joys of a Scottish Winter eh?!

that might have been the bridge i was on coming back from alloa, was really bad conditions on the motorway though, thank god my van is full of scrap and tools or i would of toppled over haha

Yes that's the bridge but I was stealing work from out your way while you were stealing work from out my way! LOL
Got my shed kitted out with scrap for the Christmas swallie.

it even worse when you team taste success and then get belted down the divisions through over spending trying to stay in the premier league knowing they will never go back in your lifetime however much you hope. im an oldham fan born and bred. i still get in a mood for 2 hours or so every saturday if they lose but think i might win the lottery if they win.

Just try being a Falkirk supporter. It's the most frustrating experience known to man.

im subbing for a mob in falkirk so im all over central scotland, blairhall and alloa it was this week, usually grangemouth falkirk.

I'm subbing too and I'm enjoying the change from being on the one job all day doing a bathroom. Like the variety of work that I'm getting. Get yourself into Stirling, there's loads of work there. Try an ad in the Stirling Observer, it's cheap and it works well.

im getting busy now which is good, need some cash for amsterdam next friday and christmas lol

I'm a Coventry City season ticket holder (for my sins). Not had much to shout about since I've been supporting them, but still it's better than supporting man unit*d.

my brother in law works at rover.?.in coventry and says the only good thing at coventry is kieron westward and i understand he's on his way

He's gone mate! Went to Sunderland in the summer. Brilliant keeper, worth about 20 points a season in saves, shame he was too good for us and imo can do better than Sunderland. Just goes to show without him we're bottom of the league.

I consider myself lucky to be an Evertonian.

It was tough growing up in the late '70's, early '80's with a load of kopite mates rubbing it in, but then we won leagues, cups and success in Europe followed!

Happy days!

Swansea City are my team. The game yesterday was crushed by the news of Gary Speed. Sad, sad Occasion. It's true about the effect your team's results can have on your mood. Been through years of lows to finally enjoy some highs!

Went to Swansea on boxing day about 2 years ago. 0-0 draw and I think it rained all day. Best part of the day was that little chippy around the corner!

Ha, Rossi's no doubt! Well done for making the trip, as a westerly outpost away fans were fairly sparse before this season! I remember Coventry well in the 90's with the likes of Dion Dublin, Richard Shaw etc. Your slide must be tough to take atm. Hard to see you avoiding the drop this season. Was listening to Richard Keys on talksport earlier talking Cov, all too familiar story for many ex prem clubs these days

Yep, Dublin, Keane, Strachan etc. Sad to think that in my lifetime they were the golden years! Problem for us is we don't own the ground, the council do. Anyone with any sense who wants to buy the club wants the ground aswell, unfortunatley/fortunatley (whichever way you look at it) the Ricoh is a money making machine, what with all of the concerts, hotel, casino and extortionate food/drink prices the council don't want to sell it, so until someone comes along with a reasonable offer for a football club in hundreds of thousand pounds worth of debt and no real assets, we're only going to get worse! I blame it on the old man for casting the curse upon me....at least he saw them lift the cup at Wembley in 87!

Ye I remember lots of Coventry players, always seemed to battling Southampton for the drop when Strach was there when I first got into football really. Going down may actually stabilise the club, shed any remaining high earners and be seen as a big club in that division so hopefully attract one or two decent players and start a rise again. That has to be the hope anyway! We don't own our ground either, or a training ground, lots of talk of us using the prem cash on facilities but it's difficult when your trying to splash out on players to compete. It took us hitting rock bottom (avoiding relegation to the conference in 03 on last day of the season) to spur on a steady 7 year spiral of success so I understand how hard it is to see your club struggling. Even in the dark days I'd have never swapped it for sitting in a pub with my JJB sports Man Utd/L'pool/Arsenal shirt on. What happened with chris Coleman by the way? Did a tidy job at Fulham, thought he'd steady your ship a couple of years ago

He took a sip from the poisoned chalice that is cov city fc. Ive seen about 16/17 managers at Coventry, and I'm only 18:shocked:.
Honestly think we could have jose mourinho as the gaffa and still be useless. As you've said though....better than being sat in your armchair!
