hi folks, i have a 29cdi classic 2-3 years old thats stopped working today, giving a EA code flashing on the display.

Ive spoken to WB, checked the system pressure, checked the gas is connected, checked there is power to the boiler, checked the condense pipe isnt blocked and it still won`t work! Anyone got any ideas?

I`ve booked an engineer to come out but that`s a week away. :S Everyone is so busy atm that I think Im going to struggle with this.

I'm sorry to say you have tried all you can and sorry to say you will have to wait for the gas safe engy,

can't you get anyone sooner?

Thankyou for the swift reply! its under warranty but they cant get an engineer out or another week! Im so :nono: off that I cant fix it! This is exactly why I wanted to become an engineer!

I have a local fella calling me back in about an hour, but can he fix it and what will he charge... i dont know!

If he is gas safe registered then there's no reason at all why he shouldn't fix it

im not, no but Ive recently sat the gas exams.

Not GS registered and i also dont know how to fix it. :(

if its under warranty I would wait for Worcester to get out to it! Don't go fiddling with It!

lol easy to say, but i have two girls in the house that need heating and hot washing water.

I know it might sound silly but have you tried turning it off and on again if that doesn't work phone Worcester up and say you need an engy out last time I called one he came next day

Thanks for the suggestion, yes i have. Ive tried whatever i can think of, that isnt too dificult.

The heating has been running continuously for a few days now so maybe thats why? But it isnt old and its a solid (and expensive) boiler!

It`s not another turn on and wait 30mins is it?

If only! Somethings wrong-which is why it stopped working in the first place.

Only posted as this came up recently, may not of been a WB and I`m sure you now know more about gas than I ever will.

Ea normally resets... a gas man could fix but he'd charge & Worcester would fix for free...

ok quick update, ive now got hot water coming through ok, but no heating. feeling the flow pipe, the water flow (that should be hot) seems to be "lumpy", as though the pump is not working properly. Its just cold, not warm at all. does that help?

Honestly mate no one is going yo give you advice to go fiddling with your boiler, especially as you have 2 children. Safety is the most important thing. Wait for the engineer all will be sorted for you ASAP I'm sure ;)

i dont have any children either here or anywhere else. But Id like to be able to identify the issue at least. Im supposed to (almost) be a gas engineer.

Sorry Steve. Having your gas qualifications does not automatically make you an expert on gas appliances. That takes years and years of practice. As much as everyone here would love to help you they can not. Sorry mate

You see, i get that yes and thankyou everyone. But when I come up against this in a customers house, I want to know whats wrong and be able to fix it. Hopefully Ill learn that when I finally manage to get someone out! Thankyou all.

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
