I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find an answer to it specifically. My son is 17, just about to complete his part 1 at college. He can't get an apprenticeship for love nor money. He has passed all his exams to date with the highest marks in his year. On the 2 days a week he's not at college he does unpaid work experience with a local plumber. My question is, is this sufficient experience to get him his NVQ or does he have to have an apprenticeship?? If it is how does he go about getting it certificated?? If not, what's the point of the college course???? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
