I have just installed a bath mixer tap with a shower attachment. The hot water is gravity fed. The water can be mixed to a suitable temperature through the tap, but when the diverter valve is operated, the water either comes out hot or cold. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Is the cold water off the mains? With the hot being gravity and if the cold is mains fed then you have a difference in pressure. The cold will over ride the hot because of the higher pressure.

Hot and cold suppplies of different pressures dont mix and work very well on a manual bath shower mixer tap , two option reduce the pressure on the cold inlet to the bath shower mixer or pump your hot supply both will need a plumber to sort out cheers kop
