Wasup guys ,,, long time no see my virtual engineers,,,,

Ive been pulling my hair out this last 6 weeks as bought a new van around a year and a half ago , last month a spent 3grand on it with the fly wheel going so new clutch , gear change cables , new tyres , wing mirror , handbrake cable and a week from getting it back the starter motor went,,,,, now this week it makes a funny noise in 5th n 6th gear the mechy tells me the gear box ,, im like wot the **** ,,,,,, il have spent the price of the van on it lol,,, i have to laugh or il cry ,,,,,, renaults are poops

Rant over ,,,,,,, thats better ,,, hoiws everyone by the way ,,,, from Kris:clap:

Sounds like a trafic

I'd be checking the gearbox oil level first... Apparently the top gears are starved of oil first if the level drops...

vans are a ballache,my old man has had his mk6 transit for about 10 years now,its falling apart around him,but in 10 years has never broken down or had a major mechanical issue

funny u should say that as when it was in the garage they had to renew the gear oil but did they ?????? its a master

I'd be wondering if they reused the old oil or put the wrong grade in to start with?

if a clutch has been done ,would have thought the driveshafts would have to come out so would have lost oil then, job to say, depends on the design assuming its FWD,IF RWD no oil should have been lost

Lol , they think they can make cars /vans , sadly mistaken !!!!

Years ago when I had the garage my neighbour had a renault 5 , I kept warning him when it got to 50k it would start leaking oil and no matter what you did once it started that was it , guess what it started at 49k , orrible things

Goggle for local oil analyse company, tell them the facts and ask how much they need and how much to take a look.

Did it once after a bad engine rebuild and whilst the garage didn`t admit responsibility I did get every penny back.

My Renault 5 was my 1st car... Most reliable car Iv ever had!

My mate got a trafic the same time I got my T5, id say he's had less trouble than mine to date... So maybe it's how there maintained or just luck of the draw

Maestro van was a very hardy vehicle. I remember a bloke who had been a mechanic in the 50s and 60s said the petrol engine in the Maestro was basically the same engine as in his day and indestructible. Never give any trouble, - shame about BL

Leo must have known my grandad, he showed me the way round a car when I was 14 / 15 he hated anything french lol , even their wine .

Lived in the centre of the universe did he? (sorry pal couldn`t resist).

Did a bit of wheeler dealing when I was young, once sold a Renault 5 and it came back the next day with a blown headgasket, lost big time on that one.

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
