Tap reseating tool

I'm looking to invest in the above... can anyone recommend a good kit, I've seen These:

Toolstation > Hand Tools > Plumbers Tools > Tap Reseating Tool Professional Set

Rothenberger Tap Reseater Set - NoLinkingToThis, Where the Trade Buys

Any recomendations?

Hmmm perhaps you have a point...maybe I'll save the cash a nd buy a cheepy !!

Don't buy a cheapy its a waste of money. Ask yourself "are you a plumber or not"?

The seat wears along with the washer so its always good practice to re cut the seat when changing a washer, when the customer see's you going to all that trouble and doing something they couldn't, they will be happy to pay the standard 'call out' for a 10 minute job.

I need to buy a set tomorrow, anyone have an opinion on the op's selection? If not I'll go with the Roth for the names product over the extra cutter..

id go with the cheaper set and see how you get on then but an better set if you need to as an when you need it more theirs much better things to spend 50 squids on ive got a monument set and they work ok

For the amout of times you will use it juste get the Monument one and don't spend any more. With most sets you get 2 sizes of cutters but that only does about 50% of the taps you are likely to come across. You need to buy the other size cutters (available separately) to make your tool worth the effort.

I made the mistake of going for the monument cheap £9 one... it wouldn't cut much - ok for polishing the top.. Had to angle grind off the handle and put it in the cordless drill to get any decent cutting on it.

I think the problem with that cheap one is the cutter doesn't go all the way round so it wouldn't get a even cut on the groove in the seat.

I'll be throwing that away and getting a decent set!

I bought the toolstation set seems to have all that's needed and to be of good quality i' post a quick review when I've used it
