Was fitting an external oil combi. Was all done and dusted for about 1.30. Boiler had gone off at the pub just up the road. They had problems before with loss of pressure and filling loop so thought it was probably sort pressure and reset high limit. Nope. 3 hours later still no go. No oil to boiler, up on first floor, gok tiger loop, tank about 20m away across car park. Looked like they had run out of oil, but insisted the hadn't. Checked tank iso, filter, non return valve and all fittings. Nothing. Just couldn't get oil to the burner.

Ran like a charm from a can but nothing up the oil line.

Went back yesterday with an extra pair of hands as was going to run a new oil line.

New non return valve and oil to halfway point of existing line. Champion.

Up on the flat roof and notice some black electrical tap round oil line just as it enters the building.

Unwraps the tape to find that as they had cut a new channel for the lead flashing they had all but cut right through the oil line.

Rather than put up their hands and pay for a half hour repair job they have a bill for 7 man hours and various bits and pieces.

T@ssers.

Rant over, back to my bathroom.

Clash of Trades. Rather than notch rafter at eves, carpenter took hammer to brickwork saying bricks break easy. Bricky threw brick at van saying so does your windscreen.

Boiler and oil line been in 4 years. Cust having flat roof redone with that tuff stuff grp.

Hi. I need a new toilet supply line but don’t know the size type of the fitting at the shut off valve. It is not 3/8 compression. It is a plastic nut about the same size as the one going into the cistern but has a different thread. Attached is a photo. Can you advise. Thanks.

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...
