Pipe reamer worth the effort?

Have lashed out a couple of quid to buy a pipe reamer. Knew it was not going to be a masterpiece in engineering. Are they worth the effort, well these cheap ones anyway, seems to "ream" off very little.

That is what they do, a little at a time, its not a drill!

Yes but I thought might be a tad quicker than it is. So will stick to using a round file.

used one for over 20 years but only does internal obviously

Bogart, I've used the Kopex ones. They're OK but its just more things to lug about. Particularly useful if using a pipe expander as they remove a good bit of the "rounding over" you get from a pipe slice.

I find I use the old red plastic Rothenberger type more than the Kopex because they are lighter and cover more pipe sizes.

Me also...and guess what, they do all sizes of pipe and they fit in your shirt pocket.
