There's a certain amount of heat generated from the oil pump on a tigerloop set up. That might not help the hose life. But I come across a lot of Riello hoses that are around 10 or more years old & seem to have lasted if not touched! Hoses from the electro oil burners are however a different breed & seem to last forever. As you said, usually some idiot twists them or damages them & you really need to replace.
I saw a tigerloop with Riello hoses that that had a leak on a hose & ruined a garden.

being that litigation and blame are part of our world now, and MIs state annual hose change, Ichange the standard flexis annually, and long life hoses every 2 or 3 years and any new boiler service cops hose, nozzle and filter change. keeps me in business and cant be blamed for leaky hose in the future. I see it as an income earner and the MFIs reccommend it, so I do after all we are there to earn a living not save every penny for the customer.

Does that mean that the tigerloop was incorrectly installed with flexi hoses extending beyond the boiler casing instead of using rigid pipework?

If the rubber or braided hoses are just old, I recommend changing them, but up to custard (I note it on service sheet).
If the rubber ones have slight cracking or the braided ones start getting crispy, I change and don't really give them much choice, just tell them about having a high chance of leaking!
But with all of them, it's kind of up to them since they're paying!

I usually stick to the MI as much as possible but aim for about 5% O2.

I have a very helpful chart from Riello which tells you how much to adjust the CO2 when the temperature is colder.

As I recall, it was a small boiler house with a boiler house cased Warmflow with a standard Tigerloop screwed to inside wall of boiler house & Riello flexi oil hoses straight from tigerloop to burner.
So, yes, wrong tigerloop for internal use (should have been Bio Tiger Loop), but flexis would be fine in this case as no reason to fit anything else due to no full boiler casing.

when you get your van serviced, does the garage ask if you really want the filter changed????????????

I had a customer who had an oil leak in the house at the boiler. It cost the insurance company ÂŁ60, 000 to clear up. They wanted to see the service record and wanted to know if the vflecis were changed annuly. I dont think flexis these days are as good as they used to be. For me they get changed annually or fit long life ones. That said I have had a lot of long life ones crsck aftet 12 months

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
